My wife and I stayed here in May. It is a family run hotel in a quiet location not far from the town centre. We were very pleasantly surprised. The hotel is extremely well appointed with attractive rooms and lovely furnishings. We had chosen an upgraded room which had a pleasant view over the surrounding countryside. Everything was spotlessly clean... More

I needed to find an hotel for a group of photographers to meet who live in various areas in the UK. I decided on The Peak District, and then chose the 'Wind in the Willows' hotel, as it looked to be in a pleasant area, and about the right size for the group. It proved to be an good choice,... I stayed here for two nights this week and have to say it was most enjoyable. The rooms were very clean and tidy but a little dated as was the rest of the hotel. That said the setting was perfect as was the garden. Breakfast was excellent both days. The owners were very helpful and attentive. I would definitely stay... More

Just a quick note to say thanks to the Wind In The Willows Hotel for a fabulous stay last weekend. The room and facilities were spotless and the service very attentive. The quality of food (breakfast) was as good as anywhere I have stayed and when in the area again, will definitely stay there

Ian and Alison run this little country hotel well, nothing is to much trouble in their quest to make sure you are comfortable and feel welcome. I am staying here in preference to a much bigger hotel in Hyde and am looking forward to the evening walks after work before the excellent dinner.

Great hotel, run by lovely people. Clean and tidy and kept to traditional decor to match the building. Lovely and can't recommend enough. We will return for sure. Breakfast is tasty and as described on the menu. Only a short 1.1 mile walk in to glossop town centre where there is plenty to do. The silence within the grounds and... More

The staff are warm & accommodating. If pre booking allergies or veggies can be catered for. The food was rosette style, fresh and tasty- I'm so shocked this hotel is a 2 star. I think the furnishings need up grading but the building and wood furniture is beautiful. The scenery from the room window was stunning and the beds are... More

A lovely hotel from which to explore the Peak District. Alison, the proprietor, was so helpful and friendly, finding information for us and lending us books for our explorations. The breakfasts are to be recommended, freshly prepared, plenty of choice and beautifully presented. Our room was spacious and cosy with lovely linens and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Two night stay, gorgeous room (to which we were upgraded), lovely gardens and despite being virtually next to the A57, as quiet as anything. Superb breakfast menu and lovely comfy beds with plenty of pillows!! Very old fashioned in many ways which may not be to everyone's taste, but we loved it.
