We stayed for one night before travelling home after a day of collecting things. The hotel is ideally located literally on the edge of the Peak District. Although it is about half a mile from town, you would think you were in the middle of the countryside. The owners are extremely friendly but not intrusive. The room was spacious and... More

The house itself is an old mill owners villa and has retained many of the period features, After being shown to our room which was nicely decorated with a spacious... More

My wife and I stayed here in May. It is a family run hotel in a quiet location not far from the town centre. We were very pleasantly surprised. The hotel is extremely well appointed with attractive rooms and lovely furnishings. We had chosen an upgraded room which had a pleasant view over the surrounding countryside. Everything was spotlessly clean... More

I needed to find an hotel for a group of photographers to meet who live in various areas in the UK. I decided on The Peak District, and then chose the 'Wind in the Willows' hotel, as it looked to be in a pleasant area, and about the right size for the group. It proved to be an good choice,... I stayed here for two nights this week and have to say it was most enjoyable. The rooms were very clean and tidy but a little dated as was the rest of the hotel. That said the setting was perfect as was the garden. Breakfast was excellent both days. The owners were very helpful and attentive. I would definitely stay... More

Just a quick note to say thanks to the Wind In The Willows Hotel for a fabulous stay last weekend. The room and facilities were spotless and the service very attentive. The quality of food (breakfast) was as good as anywhere I have stayed and when in the area again, will definitely stay there
