Had a really enjoyable nights stay at this quirky but cosy pub / hotel in Castleton. Food was decent enough, with a good selection on the menu and daily specials - and a really good selection of beers / lagers (and a huge gin menu!) Staff were superb and very friendly. Have stayed in more luxurious / more modern accommodation,... More

After a long deliberation we settled upon the Peak Hotel. At £65 per night excluding breakfast for a double room it was worth the money. Every need is catered for in the rooms which have large en suite bathrooms and the fastest filling baths in a hotel room EVER! Beds were comfortable, there was an abundance of tea/coffee biscuits etc,... More

We stayed in Castleton for a week and ate at the Peak Hotel twice. I have to say it is an outstanding place to eat. They have a good varied menu including several meals for my wife who is a wheat intolerant vegetarian. The food was of a very high standard, all cooked from scratch and served by the most... More

We stayed for 5 nights in June. Excellantly placed for walking in the Peaks. We did one of the walks that the hotel had prepared in a leaflet entitled "Three walks from the Peak Hotel". Very good. The rooms have been refurbished to a high standard and in keeping with the era of the build. Rooms very clean and bed... More

We have just returned to our caravan site just down the road from a fabulous evening at The Peak Hotel, Castleton. The very best scampi and potato wedges with gorgeous side salad and dressing that I have ever had. Topped off with a couple of Brockmans Gin and Tonic in which the barmaid had placed blueberries and pink grapefruit with... More

Sundays can be a little hit and miss when looking for dinner. We walked into Castleton and selected the Peak Hotel from half a dozen possibilities. Located just on the edge of this beautiful Peak District village, with a car park opposite if required, the Peak is a good sized hotel with plenty of room. Good choice! Great food from... More

My Husband and I stayed here May bank holiday weekend. We were earlier than the check in time our room was ready so we could go straight up. What a lovely large room it was with 4 poster bed and lovely spacious bathroom. We slept very well and didn't have to get up early for breakfast as they served it... More

Showed me and a friend compassion when we entered with a stray dog we had found. We had no ability to provide somewhere for it to stay (travelled to the area) and certainly didn't want to take it with us away from its home. The staff here took the dog in. Fed it, calmed it down and gave it water.... More

We went for a walking weekend and to Visit Chatsworth House for a second time with another couple. The hotel was ideal as it welcomed dogs so our border collie came too and it is ok to have muddy boots, although we had stunning weather so that was not a problem this time. The rooms we had were great although... More
