Stopped in here after visiting the caves with my girlfriend. We both had a roast, which came with plenty of meat, a selection of buttered veg, and some lovely roast potatoes. The meal was really good, as were the waitresses. No complaints at all. WIFI: bestpubincastleton

We rang up in the morning to book a table for 8 at 8 pm and were told by a man that they did not take bookings for dinner after 7.30 and last orders were at 8.30. When challenged that the restaurant advertised last orders by 9, I was told that the hotel management was ‘free’ to change that. Upon... More

I'm writing this review simply to thank Tobias at the Bull's Head for going above beyond in helping us find a room in Castelton. The inn was full but Tobias called 8 local inns until he found one for us! Who does that? Personally, I think that experience alone says a great deal about this place. We were traveling as... More

Called in for lunch after a walk I had a huge lamb & black pudding suet pudding while my wife went for the venison sausages with mash, although the pub was quite busy we didn't have to wait very long and both meals were really tasty. The Robinsons ale was as expected also very nice. All in all a good... More

Castleton is full of lovely old traditional English pubs - The Bull's Head Inn is typical of breed. A roaring log fire greeted us and a great lunchtime menu warmed us from the inside. I was able to find a Gluten free option without difficulty and the staff were helpful and friendly. One not to miss!

We really enjoyed the food here, lots of choice, something a bit different and not trying to be fancy just good hearty meals. And very generous portions. We sat in the bar area which was very comfortable and cosy with a nice fire. There are 2 friendly cats who wonder around the bar as well which are very cute. As... More

Went on valentines weekend, this is my birthday.. Had walked up winnats pass so cold & hungry. It was getting on & the tea shops were closed.. Saw cream tea advertised on a board outside. Inside was warm & cosy with open fires & tasteful valentines decor. Enjoyed the best brie & bacon ciabatta I have ever had followed by... More

We stayed here for a weekend break. The room was spotlessly clean. It was very comfortable and warm. Plenty of tea, coffee etc provided. The breakfasts are huge. Plenty of choice and very filling. We ate there both evenings. The food is excellent.the staff were all very friendly and helpful.

We didn't stay in the hotel, we just used the bar/restaurant facilities. Lovely environment, staff friendly, polite and offering excellent customer service. We had drinks sat round a cosy fire on freezing cold day. In the evening we went back for a meal. The food was excellent, main course and desert, best meal I have had from a restaurant in... More

Couldn't have asked for a better location, perfectly situated in gorgeous Castleton for easy access to fantastic hill walks, Caverns, the Castle and some nice shops and pubs/eateries. The accomodation is very clean and comfortable. The food is excellent and the service friendly. At the end of a long day walking, we grabbed a table next to a roaring log... More
