We stayed here for the weekend and there were good and bad points. The position of the hotel was great, the grounds were beautiful and as the hotel is right on the river, sitting out with a glass of fizz looking at the view was amazing. We ate in the fine dining restaurant both nights and the food was excellent,... More

We live locally and have been once or twice and decided to for an evening meal. We thought the service was below bar and the food was average at best. The three mini burgers were dry, nobody was around to ask for any sauce or pepper. My finances had a fish dish. Very small portion and the plate swimming in... More

Disgusting service, pre booked meal evening before wedding, useless service, chef obviously has not cooked rare steak before, bar service incompetent.Day of wedding got worse, 85 guests waiting to be served drinks from two even more incompetent barstaff who could not understand pre paid bar and insisted on serving wine by the glass, eventually after complaining , got some assistance from... Came on one of those deals where if you add up all the goodies - £39 pp off evening meal, bottle of wine (£16), breakfast (£15 pp), late checkout (£20) – you are actually being paid to stay there - when you are only charged £139. How does this work? Simples. It is shrewd marketing by management. This hotel is... More

We used a travelzoo offer which made the whole experience really good value for money. The staff are all very helpful and friendly throughout. The hotel is in good condition and the room was good. There are outside areas where you can take in some great views including swans on a river. Breakfast was very good - the best meal... More

I decided to book for a surprise night away with dinner for my partner and myself. It is without a doubt a beautiful place in a fantastic setting. First impressions - went to check in and the desk was empty, I looked over the desk for a bell and every where was thick with dust - a sign maybe,,, I... More

We stayed here on a one night stay offer that included evening meal. When we arrived a wedding party was under way so we expected a noisy stay. We were wrong! The room was very quiet all the time we were there. Our three course evening meal was very good, albeit the service was a little erratic at times probably... More

We stayed at the Priest House for one night in late June. The location of the hotel is fabulous. Our room was very spacious, albeit the decoration needed some work to bring it up-to-date. We had drinks on the terrace, which looks recently refurbished and very nice. Breakfast was very good, but our stay was let down by Dinner. The... More

A group of friends came to the priest house and had the traditional afternoon tea. The choice of sandwiches were so lovely, not your normal small finger sandwiches with boring mundane fillings. Instead, there was a choice of wraps and bagels and they were lovely. We were offered a great selection of tea to choice from and the cakes we... More
