Went out for grown up early doors meal with my husband and daughter and son in law. It was, as always absolutely delicious and quite reasonably priced. It was Italian night, which the other members of the party were very happy with, bit of a problem for me as I don’t eat pasta.

This was once a grand old hotel. It is now dreadful. There obviously hasn’t been a penny spent on it for decades. Dark dingy corridors with filthy threadbare carpets lead to tatty, unkept rooms. Mattress and bedding cheap and very uncomfortable. Bar has very little stock and

Had an amazing afternoon tea here. Don't know how they do it for the money. Fresh homemade sandwiches and cakes all served in a relaxed traditional environment. I have used this hotel for work and leisure and it's hard to fault. Great staff, great value and an altogether great

We stayed for one night at this hotel over two weeks ago. I was shocked at our room, the decor and furnishings were not very good to say the least and there was a smell of dampness in the upstairs corridor. We were only there one night so just put up with it. There was a bar

is the hotel really as bad as the reviews suggest??? it sounds to be well run down
Yes.the place is falling apart. The only thing that is good is the food. The chef is amazing and this is the only reason the hotel survives. The service is very slow and the real ale is often kept on for more than a week which makes it undrinkable.the owner does not give a flying as long as he has your money. Avoid.
