Family of 4 stayed in July for two nights, two rooms. Sadly one of our rooms was one of several directly overlooking a 24 hour petrol station that kept us awake all night with constant shouts, crashes and the regular hissing of big lorries. The room was small and quite cramped, directly overlooking this petrol station. The room was very hot... More

From walking in to this hotel to leaving the staff were warm and friendly. On arrival after checking in to my suite at the front of the hotel I went into the bar . I had a lovely bar meal which was first class. Great simple food well presented. Other people who I knew and met who were staying there... More

We booked this hotel right at the last minute as was attending a wedding locally and decided last minute to stay over. Then after booking read the reviews and was concerned about the previous negative comments. However on arrival I think maybe these people stayed in a different hotel! Travis on reception was kind and helpful organising taxis for us,... More

Called in on the off chance at about 6 pm. Managed to get a comfortable seat in the sun and shade. I ordered the Lamb because at 313 I thought it was good value, The taste of my soup was o k and the Lamb was good but when I came to pay I was charged £15. The manager apologised... More

Well, What a surprise, we booked this blind only because it was near to the railway station but what a surprise we had......a lovely hotel with a superb bedroom and a most wonderful full English breakfast a a realistic price. In the bar the price of a pint of real ale was dearer than anywhere else in Belper we chose... More

Stayed here recently and wont be repeating this. The staff are very polite and helpful. The reception and dining area are very pleasant. Unfortunately it goes downhill in the bedrooms. Things were broken and did not work. No air conditioning or fan and our room was above the kitchen it was so hot. Also noisy as there was a wedding... More

The staff were fantastic, from reception to the bar and restaurant staff. Good position in the town with parking. Lovely outside area if the weather is nice enough! Plenty of choices on the menu and breakfast was lovely.

The room was rather dated but clean - a fan was provided and needed. I had an evening meal in the bar ,fast and efficien tservice well cooked... More

Booked in for one night and greeted by a pleasant young receptionist. Given directions to room but no help given with luggage and no lift. Room was clean but dated. The wash basin had a lot of cracks and a piece missing in the rim and there was mould in the shower. The room was very hot and stuffy (... More
