We were visiting the Peak District to go walking in the Hills. Check in was seemless. We stayed in Room 10, which was comfortable, spacious and had a fantastic power shower..!! Both the breakfast and evening meals were very good. We have allergies to oil, but when asked to dry fry/grill certain food, nothing was too much trouble - they...

Booked at short notice as a overnight away treat. We had a couple of drinks at the bar, cosy fire and good selection of local ales. Dinner was well cooked and hearty portions, specials board was a bit sparse but plenty of variety on normal menu to suit most people. Room 3 was lovely, nicely furnished and cosy with nice...

As a meeting-point between Manchester and Sheffield, The Yorkshire Bridge served us well, in every sense. At a table for nine, we enjoyed a variety of food, presented well, hot and satisfying. The atmosphere was friendly and warm and the staff likewise. If the car-park is full, don't drive by, there's another car-park, at the back. We will definitely meet...

The room we had (number 11) was small but functional; it was very clean & everything worked ok. Tea & coffee making facilities are provided in the room, along with a couple of delicious home made biscuits each day. The included breakfasts were plentiful & excellent quality, as such we decided to eat here each night for our evening meals;...

Have called here occasionally in the past for an evening bar snack and really enjoyed it. Already dreaming of the pub's renowned steak and kidney pie we arranged to meet friends for lunch two weeks ago after a long walk. I have to say that, on entering, we then experienced the most bizarre pub welcome of my life. We said...

We booked in at the last minute for a family of 7. The food was great and arrived quickly even though they were very busy. The service was efficient and friendly. We have visited this pub periodically over the last 20 years and I am pleased to say the quality has been reassuringly and consistently good.

This was our first time at a hotel with our two dogs and although they are well behaved, I was a bit worried about, not only how the dogs would be but also just how 'dog friendly' the hotel was. I need not have worried, the doggy biscuits left in our room won the dogs over in a matter of...
