This was a great find for us visiting son in Sheffield. 20 minutes out of the city along the A57 in a beautiful location. Perfect base for walking. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. There was the offer of fresh milk in the room in little flasks - simple but oh so welcome. The staff were brilliant...

A very friendly welcome in a warm pub. The food was spectacular! We had Steak pie and burger and both were high quality. A great end to a bike ride in Derbyshire and worthy of another visit. If only we had room for a pudding!

Stayed here for a long weekend. Lovely traditional pub food, nice selection of real ales, clean & comfortable bedrooms. Plus fantastic breakfast, friendly staff, plenty of parking and even an outdoor tap for cleaning muddy walking boots. We would definitely visit again.

This is the first time I have stopped here and what a very nice Inn this is. The welcome from the landlady makes you feel at ease quickly and the accommodation is of a very good standard. The room I stayed in was spotless and very warm. With a comfortable large bed I got a very nice nights sleep and...

Had a lovely meal here after a walk round Ladybower reservoir. You can take your dogs into the bar area, or get away from people's dogs in other areas if you prefer. Roaring fires and cosy decor, including fascinating pictures of the local area. The food is good, though not amazing, though the atmosphere and location more than make uo...

Great place to stay and eat. Food is good room relaxing with a great ensuite. The bed was so comfortable and everything is very clean and fresh. Staff are friendly and little touches such as homemade biscuits on the bedroom tea tray make this place special.

Stopped here in October, it was absolutely lovely. Stopped here in February, and it was appalling. It's really let itself down, got here on Thursday night, went to use the shower and it was broken. They were decent enough to move us to a new room however the bed was significantly smaller. In the morning we ordered breakfast and asked...

Just returned from our 12th break at the Yorkshire Bridge, and still have not found the 'workhouse conditions' that a tiny minority appear to have experienced. I would question the motives of these people, with such a huge majority of visitors rating the Bridge as 'excellent', us included. We have looked time and time again for the famous grumpy barman,but...

What a fabulous dog friendly place. The accommodation perfect like home from home. Food lovely and most importantly dog friendly. Will definitely be returning. Faultless and thats saying something.A most relaxing stay.made to feel very welcome. The dog enjoyed her stay too...if she could speak she'd have mentioned the free dog biscuits at the bar and a bed in her...

The staff seem quite aloof. Unfriendly even. The bartender wouldn't even recommend a bitter to try. Once I ordered, I was gobsmacked at the price....1 Pint of Guinness, ! half of bitter, 1 half of lemonade, and 3 bags of crisps = £10.30. Unreal. Plus the toilet in the bar is miniscule. It's hardly fit for purpose.
