Old fashioned, pub atmosphere, serving good food at reasonable prices. Drink prices are reasonable, service by young staff is excellent, all know their job and carry it out quickly and efficiently. Nothing is too much trouble. We were here for food only so can't comment on residential side of business.

Popped here for a mid week lunch and the food was fresh and lovely. We had the fish and chips, scamp and chilli and all the food was fresh, tasty and served quickly. Service really good and this place just had a lovely pub feel and best atmosphere. Clearly a popular place for locals. Worth a visit if not for...

For lunch I had the BBQ chicken melt and my wife had the Cajun chicken.we both enjoyed these very much and commented on...

I absolutely loved this place! The location alone is magnificent, right on the market place and close to all the amenities and sights Ashbourne is known for. We stayed in a twin room and the room was well equipped, perfect for a base to explore from. En-suite bathroom was well appointed and there was a lovely view over the cobbles...

We stopped for Sunday lunch - four of us, plus 2 dogs. The bar is cosy and welcoming. The staff were very friendly (dog biscuits for the four-legged guests). Sunday roasts - beef - were very nice. Ham, egg and chips also good. Food took a while to arrive, but it was busy and we didn't mind.

Dropped in on the off chance for Sunday lunch. All tables full however the very friendly girls behind the bar told us they would have a table shortly. Returned to find a table saved and ready to take our order. Can't believe the last reviewer as the staff were as friendly as you could hope for. Food reasonably priced, very tasty...
