Nice clean and spacious room. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed because of the close proximity to the Tissington trail which is just across the road. It would have been nice to have had the evening meal option at the hotel as Ashbourne on a night is not very active and we had to go into the... More

We stayed for 2 nights at this hotel, for a short break in the Peak District , and were not disappointed. Very friendly and helpful owner, and the location is very convenient for walking into town, and the for the start of the Tissington Trail which is just over the road. The bathroom and bedroom were very spacious with a... More

Old hotel, close to the town to walk in. Off street parking. Friendly check in, we were on the top floor, stairs are a bit steep if you have walking issues and no lift/ elevator. Our room was a twin and not as nicely decorated as the doubles ( we could see into other rooms that weren't occupied) that had... More

I booked the hotel as a birthday treat for my partner. We stayed on the Friday night. Owner was very welcoming and friendly and the 4 poster bed was very comfy. Breakfast was very good and plenty of it. Had a lovely couple of days in the Peak District will definitely return to this beautiful part of the U.K.

We booked this hotel not realising they no longer serve evening meals. We were only staying the one night and our room was clean and comfortable but it did face the road and there was traffic lights below with an audible walk signal which was annoying in the afternoon when we were trying to catch up on some work before... We have just returned from a short break staying at this hotel. The rooms are really nice and the beds are comfortable. David the owner is really helpful and makes you feel at ease. They don't serve evening meals now. But the hotel is well placed for the restaurants in the town.

Putting aside the dated yet slightly elegant decor, this hotel is great value for money. The cooked breakfast is excellent. We would definately stay here again and would like to thank the hotel for the excellent customer service they provided.

Stayed here for a Saturday night prior to racing at Darley Moore circuit, having stayed here in the past. Had a large, well equipped room with four-poster and a bathroom with an actual window and a bath - luxury (room 10, first floor). Compromise is a less than powerful shower, but it was functional. We ate out at Lamplight and... More

My partner booked this hotel for 2 nights as a treat for my 50th birthday. He chose it based on the room descriptions on the website and we were not disappointed.
