We are a family of 7 and 3 dogs. The Hopes hideaway is perfect and has loads of space, lovely views and the perfect location. My grandma was rushed into hospital while we were there. Both Carolyn & Karl rushed to the scene and were amazing. We can not thank them enough. Would recommend the stay to anyone and everyone!

The farm has 5 spaces available - Hope’s Hideaway, Bremen’s Barn, Reuben’s Roost, Purdy’s Place and the Alpaca Hut. The owners, Carolyn and Karl, have their own farmhouse onsite and are permanently available for any help that their guests may need - they really do go above and beyond. There is a barn available for functions when Covid restrictions allow, and guests can engage with the resident animals - alpacas, goats, dogs, chickens and geese, all of whom are delightful. Although the geese do honk a bit, to be honest. We stayed in Hope’s Hideaway, the largest accommodation, with 3 downstairs bedrooms (2 twins, 1 four poster double) and an upstairs bedroom, 2 bathrooms, an enormous kitchen and dining area, 2 lounge areas and a pool table that kept us happily entertained for hours on end. There are jigsaws, board games, a garden and wifi. When we confirmed the booking Carolyn sent us full information about the local area including local suppliers of shopping ingredients, take aways and preprepared food. The highlight of life at Lower Damgate is the location. From the farm; you can walk to Dovedale, the Manifold Way, Thors Cave and a seemingly endless variety of beauty spots, many of which we didn’t have time to discover. We’ll remedy that on our future visits. We loved it.
