I stayed here for Business purposes back in January 2016 for one night after my original booking at another Hotel nearby had been messed up. On arrival the Staff are generally quite welcoming and friendly and the first impression is a bit like walking into somebody's home rather than a hotel. The rooms are of a good size but when... Visited The Cumberland Hotel for a weekend with my Mum and daughter. The hotel is very homely the owner Ann is very welcoming. We were checked in by her grandson Matthew who was very polite and helped my daughter with our cases, we had a twin room and a single room. We requested rooms beside each other which we got.... ...sometimes, maybe too tight. There was some uncertainty with the length of my stay, so I paid for three nights in advance and said that it might be necessary to make it four days. I needed four days for the assignment in the nearby paper mill so I just left on the fourth day's morning saying "To the Mines!" or... More

The first impression of the interior of the hotel was unpleasant. There was a strong stale smell which was very off-putting. I and my two friends were expected to share three beds in a room that barely took two beds. It barely qualified as a single room size. The room had no air conditioning. The window sill was covered in... More

Stayed with coach party.staff very helpful and pleasant .Bedrooms a bit dated but clean. Food was very good especially the evening meals. Décor is not to everyone's taste. A bit flowery. We will definitely go back.

I stayed here one night for work. The staff are all friendly and checking in was simple enough. The rooms are very dated but the bed was lovely and comfy. The bathroom was really dirty ,could do with a good clean or even better a refurb. When staying away for work the main thing for me at any hotel is... More

Truly one of the worst places I've ever stayed (and I backpacked through Asia on a budget) The B&B is cheap, but there should still be a minimum level of service for the price. The lady that checked us in couldn't find us on the list, then gave us someone else's room key - I opened the room to find... More

Does what it says on the door. Small family run provincial hotel. And given the way these places have suffered the ravages of the Internet discounters in recent years - they have managed to do it rather well. Congrats due.
