Couldn't have asked for a better stay. Located in a stunning area of the lakes, with a gorgeous pub just 2 minutes walk- food was delicious and well worth a visit after a big walk in the Lakes! Rooms were lovely with comfy beds and central heating through the night. Breakfast was a full English (vegetarian option for me which... More

Nice B&B with a lovely breakfast. My only negative was that the bed was too soft which made for an uncomfortable night - that could just be personal preference though! Not the strongest shower but does the job. Gillian was lovely and breakfast was great

After a very wet day on the hills we were very warmly welcomed by Andrew and Gillian. The farmhouse is beautifully kept and the rooms tidy, warm and neat. The super deep bath was especially welcome. If you want a hearty breakfast, roaring fire and endlessly patient hosts, in a place at the head of Wasdale - this is it.... More

Stayed here for a night, prior to a days hiking on Scafell Pike. It was immaculately clean and we were made to feel at home from the point of entering the front door to the minute we left. Georgina and her husband were fantastic and extremely hospitable. This is a B&B on a working farm and it quite simply epitomises... More

I spent a couple of nights here with my wife this August. It was, in all honesty, one of the most wonderful places I've ever been. The location is simply superb, right in the shadow of Scaffell Pike and a few hundred yards from the desolate beauty of Wastwater. The rooms were clean and worked well for a couple and... More

You can't get more authentic 'Lakes' than Burnthwaite Farm, as far as you can get driving up Wastwater to Wasdale Head. Perfect breakfast after a snug nights sleep at the foot of Gable, Kirk Fell, Lingmell & Scafell. Great beer & food 10 minutes stroll away. Andrew & Georgina are great hosts & will help you out with anything you... More

Stayed at this B&B for three nights with the family (two adults, two teenage children.) We were visiting the area to climb Scafell Pike. This B&B is the perfect location and the setting is truly stunning. There are many beautiful walks on your doorstep as well as Scafell & a very friendly & welcoming pub a few minutes walk away... We had two nights here training for the 3 peaks. Georgina and Andrew make you feel really welcome. The rooms are clean and the bed was very comfortable. Full english breakfast is on offer and is freshly cooked to order. We intend to explore the lesser known fells next time and will be back. Highly recommended.
