What an absolute gem of a find! We stayed here for two nights so that we could climb Scafell Pike. Our group consisted of a mixture of nine adults and teenagers. Georgina and her husband looked after us brilliantly! The beds were so comfy and the rooms lovely, with gorgeous views out of the windows! The breakfast was a full... More

Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts, it was a real home from home, without the cooking and washing up! Spacious, clean, a fire lit for our return from the walk up Skarfell and even our wet clothes were dried for us. The 360 degrees views were just as wonderful in the sunshine, mist or cloud which we saw... More

This was our second visit, though personnel has changed since last time. The accommodation was spacious and clean, the breakfast was very good, and it is so convenient for so many hills. The setting is, of course, wonderful.

What a lovely place to stay. Enjoyed every minute of it. I am definitely going back at some point in time. When you arrive at the farm, friendly dogs and kind owner greets you. It is a quiet, quaint, beautiful place. I understand it is a National Trust affiliated place. The building is historical, decoration is very much in line... More

Wonderful place to be based for exploring the high fells, especially if your planning to climb Sca fell pike. Hospitality was very friendly and professional. Pub 10 minutes walk away for evening meals Would definitely go again.

Andrew and Georgina go out of their way to make everyone's stay a happy one. They are extremely hardworking, professional and friendly and know exactly what they are doing. The room and bathroom were spotlessly clean, if small, and good value for money. Breakfasts, freshly cooked in the huge AGA with local ingredients, and delicious, were served at a communal... More

We stayed 2 nights at start of Ravenglas to Lindisfarne. We could not have stayed in a more welcoming place. George was an excellent hostess nothing was too much trouble even drying our wet stuff by her Aga. She even recovered a pair of socks for me. Totally recommend and location was also stunning.

Lovely Cottage B&B set in the beautiful remote area of Wasdale Head. Ten minutes walk to the pub for good food with the mountains and lake nearby. Good starting point for the climb up Scafell Pike via the corridor route or the nearby brown tongue path. Friendly staff and comfortable rooms. Good breakfast too. Peaceful place.

I stayed in Burnthwaite Farm on the 24th of May the day before Scafell pikes trig points 80th birthday. A truly amazing place to stay not your normal B&B. A beautiful old building which still has all its original features. Georgina and all here are great.
