Stayed here a couple of times for business travel. First time l stayed was in a single bed room which l found very cozy. Second time was in a double room which was fine, just a little nippy. I didn't eat in the restaurant for dinner unfortunately, l did have breakfast and found the cooked menu a little limited. Excellent...

We stayed here a couple of times a few years back when it was a small hotel. It was lovely. Now that it is a restaurant with rooms, as described in their information, we would not return. We were on the 1st floor, with two easy staggered flights of stairs, just above the bar and restaurant, with I think the...

We arrived too late on a Saturday night to eat in the restaurant which was a shame. We were made welcomed and shown to our small but clean room. We booked the hotel as the restaurant had great reviews so at breakfast we thought we better book a table for the evening. We were told that the restaurant wasn't open...

A great little hotel. Just a handful of rooms, spotlessly clean and a fantastic location in the Town. Food was excellent and staff lovely. The gin/cocktail bar was an eye opener (not being a gin fan) I honestly didn't realise there was that many varieties and the bar manager whisked us up an amazing gin cocktail, think I may now...

I would have said 5 star, but it was just that the room did not have that 'wow' factor, and the shower was one where the shower curtains tended to cling to you. Very comfortable bed. Really nice people running it. Do try the restaurant.

Stayed here for 2 nights in August to attend a friends wedding. First impressions were it was quite dark, and old fashioned however we were soon made to feel welcome and given good advice about cheapest place to park (£1 a day 5 minutes walk). Hotel is on a busy narrow street with no parking, on street parking nearby free...

Having now stayed at Virginia House on a number occasions and it has become a firm favourite and home-from-home. I normally stay on a Monday, so haven't tried the restaurant, but breakfast is fantastic. It is in the middle of Ulverston, so easy walking distance to a myriad of pubs and restaurants. Great alternative to staying in Barrow and short...

Excellent location. Nice quiet bedroom at the back of the building. Tasteful décor throughout. Delicious breakfast. We didn't sample dinner in the restaurant although the menu looked tempting. There is a gin parlour and a lovely garden in which to sit and drink on a summer's evening.
