You really can't miss Stonehouse Farm, just about next door to the railway station - so perfect if you're travelling by train to start the coast to coast walk. The rooms have been updated considerably over the years and a range of accommodation, including self catering, is available. We were fascinated by the eco heating via a wood-fed biomass boiler... We come here so often it has become like our second home. Just a wonderful place to stay and a wonderful family to watch over you and accommodate your every need. This time we had phone issues - and they wouldn't stop until the problem was resolved. Lovely, lovely people. Stonehouse Farm is so convenient to the train.station and located... More

Nice to have a room with kitchen facilities, which we used to cook our supper. Sense of privacy, close to train & stores, but not noisy. It is an old Georgian farmhouse, nicely decorated. Breakfast area & breakfast itself was grand.

Excellent traditional & friendly B & B. Clean rooms, good shower, great breakfast. Accomodated 11 of us motorcyclists as part of our coast to coast trip and very kindly let us park undercover in the barn... Recommended...

Convenient location near train station. Pleasant owners who are very obliging. Large clean rooms and comfortable beds. Free wifi that needs to be improved as not easy to pick up unless you sit near the router. Good place to stay the night before starting the coast to coast.

We had a nice large room that included a kitchenette and sitting area with a separate bedroom, very convenient to the train station but we heard no noise from the trains. Very friendly staff. Excellent breakfast with lots of options including a large selection of local jams. It was a great start to our Coast-to-Coast adventure!

Lovely room in a very characterful cottage with a most pleasant hostess. It's got offstreet parking and nice pubs nearby. I had a very good start of the Coast to Coast from here, with a good amount of options in the packed lunch. Breakfast also good!
