Amazing food, beautiful setting. I had the fish of the day which was a pan fried white fish served with Chorizo, roast new potatoes and very fresh greens. All tasted amazing. My only complaint was I would have like a little more for £15 My sister and wife had a cheese and a meat board each which looked amazing Kids...

We stayed at the Pennington hotel for 2 nights this weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our accommodation was the junior suite in the nearby inn at ravenglass which was owned by the hotel. Although I wouldn't have called it a " junior suite" it was immaculately clean and well furnished. The only problem I had was the pub bar...

Really they would have been better staying closed. The previous day had been an award ceremony and a private function and the chef had phoned in sick. Our starters arrived minus the egg and when we commented it appeared, cold and half coated in bread crumbs. The deli boards full of bought in meat and flan were ok but my...

We hadn't intended to visit the Pennington, we were headed elsewhere but found the kitchen closed so we diverted here and weren't in the best of moods when we arrived. However, the Pennington staff were very helpful and the food was really good so we went in miserable and came out happy! It's in a lovely setting too - if...

Now I may be "Out of Step" with previous reviewers, but I can only say what I got. This hotel has every possibility for a "Place in the Lakes" that it could have, but it lacks "Sparkle" from the Hospitality Team Where else could you find a hotel with two railway stations at the end of the Car Park ??...

We stayed at The Pennington over Bank Holiday. What a lovely Hotel - the room was spacious and comfortable with a huge bathroom, The Buffet Breakfast was excellent with a lot of choice and eggs being freshly cooked to our own requirements. The Staff were friendly and very helpful and we will certainly stay there again.

This hotel was a blessing after the place we stayed in at Ambleside the night before. Spotlessly clean bright and airey lovely bar and restaurant. We stayed here for three nights, and wished it was longer. Excellent breakfast, lovely location, and a two minute walk from the Ravenglass steam railway. Plenty of free parking. Would highly recommend.

Stayed for three nights in July and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Rooms are clean and comfortable and the food was excellent. Fantastic location for Muncaster Castle and the South Lakes Zoo. Check out the great three night offer which is on the hotels own website.

We stayed one night and were told we were booked in the Inn. We were very apprehensive when guided down the street to the foot of a steep set of stairs at the back of the nearby pub. However, the room was absolutely lovely. It was immaculate, modern, spotlessly clean, well insulated from the pub below, had a great view...

We enjoyed a lovely evening meal in very pleasant surroundings. The staff were attentive and the food tasty. An exhibition by a local artist/printmaker was on display. Good beers and wines were available. Prices were fair for the food provided.
