Great food both breakfast and dinner, good service nice rooms only issue is the set out, which you cant do much about, as it is hard to get the bags up the stairs. The short comings are well and truly overcome by the great food and service.

Room 9 was small with limited space at each side of the bed. The wardrobe was very close on one side while the dressing table was likewise on the other side. Care has to be taken if visiting the bathroom during the night, after negotiating the wardrobe you could stub your toe on the unexpected step up into the bathroom.... More

The suite at the Inn was every bit as good as the photos shown on the website. The views of the estuary were lovely especially with the wildlife. There was no noise from the Inn even though the suite is above the bar area and the bar was packed as we stayed over Christmas. All the staff we came in... More

Stayed here for one night on a business trip. Wish I could have stayed longer and been here for leisure. Such a beautiful location and lovely hotel. Staff were very kind - even organising an early breakfast. Breakfast was good. The room was large, warm and comfortable. Bed was really comfortable. Bathroom was a bit too hot but lovely and... Full marks for this hotel. The room was spacious, comfy beds, big fluffy towels, lots of complimentary toiletries, great tea tray. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order with good quality ingredients. Nice bar and friendly staff. We really enjoyed our two night stay. Very close to Muncaster Castle

After a wonderful visit to Wastwater with my eldest daughter and her family, we drove to Ravenglass, an ancient Roman port on the Cumbrian coast, and checked in to The Pennington. My wife and I had a double in the Annexe and my daughter and family were in a larger double room next door that had been provided with a... More

This is a very nice hotel - clean and modern in a lovely location - with very friendly and accommodating staff who were genuinely nice to deal with. They made us and our two dogs very welcome and we would very happily return.

You don't have many choices besides The Pennington when staying in this part of Cumbria. The hotel was generally better than my expectations going into my three-night stay here. The staff was friendly, but the service could have been better and more refined. For example, no assistance was given with my luggage upon arrival. Also, newspapers weren't always available, despite... More

We booked the Junior Suite for a night in Ravenglass while spending the weekend in the Lake District. The room was lovely - not in the Pennington itself, but above the tavern just down the street. It had a large bed, beautiful bathroom, and great view of the estuary. Breakfast was included the next morning - large and filling! Highly... More

We stayed at The Pennington on a Saturday night. The hotel has been refurbished to a high standard. Good, clean, well serviced rooms. The public areas are bright and clean with stone floors and contemporary decoration. The bar and restaurant are bright and breezy. An excellent selection of local produce on the menu and a good selection of ale. The... More
