Spent a couple of lovely evenings eating and drinking at this inn. The food is good quality hearty pub grub and very good value for money. They have their own micro brewery on site with a selection of their ales on sale all of which were really good definitely worth a visit!

Stayed here for my birthday as we know the area and it's a great base for walking in Wasdale. It's a spectacular location and we wanted a place where we could kick off muddy boots after a hard day on the hill and have a fuss free, hearty dinner. The hotel has it's own micro brewery which produces a great...

Was staying locally for three nights at campsite and visited the Strand Inn every night. Friendly staff, good choice of beers and spirits including their own beers which are brewed in their micro brewery. Good choice of food that is changed daily. Fun, free quiz on Sunday's. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area

We have been visiting this hotel now for 6 years. Nowhere can compare to the friendliness and helpfulness of the entire Staff. Nothing is ever too much trouble. The micro brewery is the icing on the cake. The choice of wines excellent and the locally produced food exceptional. This is indeed a hidden gem! Well done to Mark and Lesley.

We were staying close by to this Pub/Hotel and decided to drop in for an evening meal. Excellent food, great service, very friendly staff. Quite honestly the biggest and best gammon meal we had ever had, and great value for money!

Stayed here for valentines weekend and we took our then, 13 week old twin boys with us. The staff could not have been more accommodating, they kept the kitchen open so we could eat when we arrived (late), set up a cot for our arrival with the twins and generally could not have been more attentive. The only reason it...

We recently visited Nether Wasdale having last stayed there 40 years ago. We were not disapointed. We remembered eating in the Strands Inn and the Screes Inn and we visited both hostelries again and ate in both for lunch and evening meals. Both were excellent and the chips were the nicest we have ever had. The ambiance was great in...

We stopped at The Strand for a pub lunch. We had a warm welcome, and enjoyed sitting in front of the fire. They have a great selection of tasty beers which they brew in their own micro brewery. The food itself was good, I particularly recommend the Cumberland sausage and mash.

Peaceful pretty location in Nether Wasdale with great walks on the doorstep. We were a group of seventeen, staying two nights. Cozy pub with log fire and good choice of ales.
