It is sitting in a stunning location; Wastwater lake is literally on the door steps and you are surrounded by the hills. Reached there late but the staffs were very helpful & friendly; check in was seamless and easy. We were 4 adults and a kid. Bed rooms were on the first floor; cosy and we had a very good...

I booked YHA Wasdale Hall for exclusive use last weekend for my birthday party and took a group of 18 friends along. Some had used YHA before, others hadn't but everyone loved it! The location is amazing, having a lake in our garden for the weekend was fab! The sun shone both days and the views were breathtaking. The children...

Great beautiful old building, amazing location, a bar, a bunk and a place to cook. This is what all YHAs should be like. They could do with adding wifi though... a modern convenience yes but so is electricity and central heating and loo roll and they have all of that.

Hi, Many thanks for taking the time to post a review. If only we could get WiFi for guests, but as things stand it would cost around £40k to have a new piece of copper from the exchange to the building to achieve this - once superfast broadband comes to Wasdale, probably next year now, theres a good chance it...

I had a 2-night stay here aiming to explore Wasdale Head and get up a hill or two. As it was I climbed Yewbarrow and got some superb views down Wastwater and across to Gable and the Scafells. I decided to get myself a private room, and the manager was very helpful in ensuring that I got best value for...

The facilities at the beautifully located Wasdale Hall are top class, supported by a friendly, hardworking staff. Spacious sitting and dining rooms and each bunk has light and power. Clothing I had left after stay was returned by mail - very much appreciated.

We arrived late after a long drive, staff were really friendly, checked in easily. Directions to the nearest pub were great, which is a really nice walk, even in the dark. Slept well in the dorms. Kitchen and bathroom facilities good and clean. The location is beautiful as well, right on Wast Water.

Spent 6 days at this place and loved every minute. Location is simply stunning! Bob and his staff couldn't do enough for you and made me feel very welcome throughout my stay. High winds caused a power cut but Bob ensured that things were as comfortable as possible with a roaring log fire and romantic lighting! ( ;-) ) Food...

There is nothing better than arriving at a destination and being greeted with genuine warmth and humour, and that is what we found here. All credit to the staff, especially Kirsty, for being a pleasure to deal with. We found our room excellent, the view of the lake superb, and the hostel generally high quality in a fine location. The...

Stay here for a weeks ML training course Sunday night through to Friday mid afternoon. It is right in the heart of the beautiful Lake District, set on the shore of Wastwater and at the foot of great fells for playing and exploring. The house built around 1830 is picturesque, grand, atmospheric and packed full of ambience. Although during the...
