It's a B&B on a working farm so you get exactly what you expect; dogs that want to lean on you, shared facilities, a wonderful welcome, and some great homemade food. Although the walk out from the village after a long day on the C2C path seemed to take forever, it really isn't that far if you've not just walked... More

We chose to stay here again during our second Coast to Coast walk. The Iredale's are friendly helpful hosts, with a fine house. It's unlikely that you'll get as good value for money anywhere else on the walk. We particularly enjoyed the opportunity to stay on a working farm, with people who know the valley like the back of their... More

I was lucky to have this place to myself. Clean facilities with a bigger than usual bathroom and shower. The room has great with a view over the sheep paddock to the mountain I'd be up on the next day. Dinner was at the White Lion an easy 1.5 km walk down the road - get there around 6ish for... More

Very friendly greeting and clean, comfortable room. No place to sit except the beds, but it was still ample space for one night when we were mostly looking for a place to sleep. The bathroom situation is unfortunate (all guests share one bathroom, and there was often a wait). Breakfast was good and available early. Not quite as nice as... More

An absolutely cracking place and one that truly reflects the beauty of Patterdale. A working farm that embraces travelers with a warm welcome and excellent food. The accommodation and facilities are 1st class and the value for money superb.

A real walker's stopover, no frills but lovely warm welcome, comfortable room and very good breakfast. Amazingly good value for money considering it is in the middle of The Lakes. Ideal for C2C walkers with a lesser known route up to Boredale Hause (Mr or Mrs Ireton will direct you). Highly recommended.

It's difficult to know whether this room was good value as we booked as part of a Coast-to-Coast walk package and therefore did not know the price for a stay. This is a working farm and when we arrived we were welcomed in a very friendly way, but were not given important information by the owner (who, to be fair,... More

We enjoyed our stay at Greenbank Farm and Beverley made us feel very welcome. This is a working farm and you are therefore surrounded by beautiful scenery, fields of sheep and all the trappings of the farm. The rooms were adequate albeit a bit small and there were 10 guests sharing one bathroom which was the only downside to our... More

This is a working sheep farm where the wife runs the B & B. Rooms were newer than I expected and the bathroom was down the hall but it was clean and available when needed since they only let 5 rooms. We had dinner on the farm and we all had roasted chicken, a salad and plenty of vegetables. One... More

Lovely welcome from the owners. A working sheep farm with wonderful views of the fells from the bedrooms. Very nicely decorated, clean and comfortable rooms. Shared bathroom but clean, lots of hot water. Owners readily welcome hikers and cyclists (on coast to coast route) and have great knowledge about the local fells and the coast to coast route. The English... More
