We stayed here in January where we thoroughly enjoyed our time. The hotel is set in a lovely location, with plenty of attractions nearby. The family room was spacious and the hotel overall was clean and fairly well maintained. The food wasn't the best we have tried, particularly the breakfast, but many hotels we have stayed at have been similar. Swimming was included in the price. Nethertheless, we would recommend for a short stay in the lakes. Make sure to visit the car museum nearby, and the steam trains.

We had a fantastic weekend away here, room was lovely (+clean) and the evening meal was amazing, the restaurant staff were brilliant and great at catering for coeliacs, I highly recommend the chefs peppercorn sauce 👌 We booked through groupon and everything worked perfectly, Highly recommend staying here. And if you see the groundskeeper say hi to him- he’s a lovely gentleman who knows a lot about the history of the place.

Visited here last Thursday for my husband’s birthday. Had never been to Lake District & it was absolutely lovely. The hotel couldn’t fault anything the staff on reception were absolutely lovely kind & helpful. Check in was very quick & smooth. The room was big & we had a great view of the lake. 4 poster bed was very comfy. Only way I can describe it was very oldy worldy. So if your all about modern might not be for you but we loved it. We used the spa whilst there again lovely. Only negative was the man at reception in the spa was very ignorant. Just handed us towels without a word. We booked through groupon so dinner was included. The food was lovely & the staff were fantastic. Very pleasant & professional. Breakfast was the same. My husband loved the full English. Only reason I’m giving it a 4 star was it was 9 mile away from Bowness-on-Windermere. We we went through the day & had a lovely walk round the centre & visited some of the pubs. Will definitely be back to Bowness but will stay in the centre next time. But a big thank you for making our stay very pleasant.

Stopped over the weekend as part of a Groupon deal. We opted to upgrade our room which was on the third floor overlooking the river. Room was a decent size with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We ate in the hotel restaurant on Friday evening and the food was excellent with plenty of choices on the menu. We used the hotel bar and the drinks are expensive but the prices are on par with other hotel bars so to be expected. The staff at the hotel were all pleasant. Breakfast consisted of a buffet and a menu with other options available if the Full English doesn’t tempt you. A pleasant stay although no other pubs etc in the immediate area unless you drive or get a taxi.

Me and my wife stayed here weekend 7th-8th March 2020 and we booked it via Groupon and what a lovely hotel it is. We paid £155 for a double executive room with breakfast and evening meal and what a lovely view of the River Leven we could of sat there all day, lovely room and jacuzzi bath which we did take advantage of. Cannot really fault the evening meal great choice and lovely, only thing I can moan about is I had to keep asking for water but not gonna let that spoil this review. Breakfast was lovely choice of juices and cereals and full English. Staff we great, sat in the bar on the night for a few drinks which were slightly pricey but you get that in hotels like this as nowhere really to get another one from. We didn’t make it into the leisure club but we did go and have a look. We will definitely be visiting again soon.
