Stayed at the Whitewater Hotel, Booked through Spa and Hotel breaks for 3 nights on our honeymoon. You can't fault the location and views. The staff were also very friendly and accommodating. We were however, incredibly disappointed with executive room for which we had payed an additional premium as it was our honeymoon. The room was very tired and desperately in need of updating. The carpets were threadbare and the ceiling was cracked and filled and painted in a different colour than the ceiling. The furniture and decor in the room was also in need of repair, and updating, poorly painted drawers that didn't open. The shower had no pressure so we needed to use the mixer tap from the bath. Significant health and safety issue with the towel rail which left me with a burn when I placed my hand on it, we needed to ensure it had a towel on it at all.times to avoid scolding. The room had an odour which smelt like old cigarettes. The hotel is in much need of bringing up to standard. The spa treatments were good but be aware that you can only use the upstairs areas of the spa on the day of your treatment, although the pool is open throughout. The food was of a good standard. We tried to make the most our stay but did contact Spa and Hotel breaks due to the very poor value for money, this was not booked as a bargain break and was extremely expensive for the experience we received. The responses from the company and hotel were very poor and as such I would not book with either again. Thank goodness for the hardworking staff at the hotel, its only based on their efforts and the location that gained the 3 star rating.

Just spent a night at the hotel to celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary and it was such a lovely night away. The staff on reception and in the dining areas were so friendly and attentive! The rooms and hotel decor are dated but it added to the style of the hotel so didn’t matter. The little touches like Elemis products and lots of tea, coffee & hot chocolates in the room were an added bonus. It was raining so we couldn’t sit outside but it was a beautiful location. The pool etc was nice and the food so good for both the evening meal and breakfast! Would highly recommend and we’ll be back 😃

Cannot recommend highly enough, a beautiful room, spotlessly clean with a gorgeous view. Lovely spa facilities and a nice variety of treatments. The food is excellent , we had dinner and breakfast on both days, a really lovely menu beautifully cooked, but the real special touch is the staff and service, they cannot do enough to help, friendly, knowledgeable and out to make your stay special, will definitely be back.

Couldn’t fault are stay at this hotel Nothing was too much for the staff. We have a room overlooking the river it was well stocked with all you need, king size bed was very comfortable, we just thought the dinner menu was little limited, but what we had was lovely. The breakfast was excellent
