An absolutely fantastic hotel. The decor in Reception, bar area, restaurant right through to the 'fabulous' bedrooms is beautiful. Had a hot stones treatment in the spa which was lovely and relaxing. Booked the restaurant one night which had a great atmosphere and lovely food.

food good if on the expensive side, very good choice of local beers. never sure why hotels seem to think that its great to serve your food on a bit of wood, with the fries in a cup. whats wrong with plates. on the whole a good lunch but expensive

We were upgraded (at cost to us) to one of the new loft suites. We stayed in the Cosy suite and it was beautifully decorated. Gorgeous big bed and bath too! The biggest downside was the terrible shower in which there was virtually no room to move! This was a design flaw as although it was in the eaves, the...

Generally heated up frozen food, poor service, dishes and cutlery dirty. Hotel may be ok but the restaurant is awful. Over priced with very little service. Some strange choices of meals on the menu. Shame as it is in a lovely setting.

Went with family for the afternoon tea yesterday, it really was delicious! Good selection of cakes and sandwiches, fillings were plentiful and tasty. We also ordered a couple of the nibbles which were so fresh and tasty, very good. Service was excellent and nothing to fault, we will definitely be back soon. Such a lovely place!

Lovely hotel...wish we had remembered our swimming gear! Wonderful location for exploring Lakeland peninsular, Windermere and Coniston. Loads of rooms to relax with one of the gins. Good food, lovely bed and nice smelling toiletries.

This setting is idyllic, a beautiful building by the river. Unusual feminine decoration and well spaced tables, this dining experience was good. Dogs were welcomed, staff helpful and friendly. The only downside was that the restaurant was extremely busy as the good weather had brought people out and this resulted in slower than usual service. This staff did apologise for...

We visited The Swan Inn restaurant on a busy Saturday evening and endured a very poor experience in terms of customer service. We were sat at a table in the middle of the room and asked if there were any tables against a wall/more out of the way. We were told - by a very surly waitress - that all...

Had a good stay, staff were helpful and friendly, rooms are comfortable, great location. The spa and gym were an added benefit after a long walk in the lakes. The restaurant and pub have some nice meals and the quality was great. Breakfast was delicious especially the fruitt compote and home made granola.
