Hazel provided everything we needed over the weekend for a beautiful family wedding, accommodating two toddlers. Rooms are spotless and filled with character. Excellent breakfast. Views from the garden include stunning mountains and farmland. The wheatsheaf pub nearby is a 5 minute drive and does excellent bar meals. Hot tub in garden is fantastic!

Just returned home from another overnight stay at this amazing establishment. Idyllic in every sense of the word. Hazel is the most welcoming of hosts her energy and love for what she does shines through. The delicious cream tea on arrival, the fabulous stable room with the most beautiful four poster bed and huge Jacuzzi bath, the pristine kept grounds... More

spent a few nights here, because it was a family wedding, Hazel was a very good host throughout our stay. Lovely decorated rooms no TV so very peaceful, very limited phone signal, and very limited wifi ,but not a issue as we came to get away from it all, there is only one room with a complete shower cubicle in... Beautiful converted farm. Room gorgeous, no WiFi or TV which was amazing never felt so relaxed in a long time. Cream tea on arrival. Beautiful grounds. Everything was just perfect. A dip in the outside hottub is a must after a long day walking round the lakes. The only disappointment was that we only booked two nights. Will definately be... More

We called in by chance for a drink and a bite to eat. What a lovely place. The coffee and green tea were good as was the Victoria sponge and Cheese scone. There were lots to choose from on the menu. The old Cow house had been very well restored so quaint I think you are onto a winner there.... More

Thank you for your lovely comments. It would have been such a shame to change the layout from when the cows used it and I am glad that you appreciated its quaintness. I hope to see you again soon! More

We spent two nights at New House farm and had our wedding day there on the Saturday. First of all, the rooms are amazing; mine had a roll top bath and a four poster bed and the other rooms were furnished to the same high standard, with incredible views from the windows. A lovely breakfast was served every morning in... More

Arrived for a light lunch and was impressed with the menu. Thought about an afternoon tea, four or five to choose from, but instead chose the soup of the day, French Onion which came with a warm seeded roll and also ordered a pot of tea for two. Was not disappointed. The soup was suprisingly thicker than expected, much to... More

Good old Granny!! The old recipes are the best and I am delighted that you enjoyed her soup. She is rather chuffed with herself so that means that hopefully she will keep making it for a few more years - ha ha!! More

We stopped for tea and scones at this beautiful tea room to the front of the guest house. There are so many variations on offer from cheese, Edwardian and Victorian cream teas to name a few. They are simply exquisite and the best we have tasted in Cumbria and we have tried a few! We would highly recommend this and... More
