Visited Overwater for a belated Valentines dinner, been a number of times before and have never been disappointed. Lovely meal in a lovely setting. Staff were excellent as always and despite a couple of minor glitches the meal was faultless. Staff dealt with a very rude, obnoxious fellow diner very professionally despite his demands being totally unreasonable. Will be back...

the hotel is in a lovely setting, with great views. The hotel its self is really nice, our room was a superior one, with a big bathroom and a nice seating area as well plenty of coffee and tea and fresh milk, shortbread and a nightcap drink as well which was a nice touch. The food was excellent fine dining,...

If this hotel is considered 3 star then there is something wrong with the star rating system. In reality, it is more like 5 star. Beautiful location and building. Absolutely, spotlessly clean and their restaurant serves delicious food. Cannot fault this place and so glad we came across it. Staff are charming as well. Our room overlooked the garden with...

Overwater Hall is tucked away in a secluded little glen. The day we visited the grounds were carpeted with snowdrops. We had afternoon tea in the lounge at a table near the french doors where we could see the many birds visiting the bird feeder but also feel the comfort of the open fire. The hotel has what I would...

We had a thoroughly enjoyable 4-night honeymoon at Overwater Hall, and couldn't have wished for a better time. Our room was comfortable, clean and spacious, with luxurious bedding and a large bathroom. The tea-making facilities in the room included fresh, cold milk in a flask, and homemade shortbread biscuits replenished daily, and the complimentary homemade liqueur 'nightcap' was a very...

My parents have been coming to Overwater for many years and love the place, so felt it time for a visit for our anniversary. We were not disappointed. Overwater and all the staff lived up to and beyond expectations. We had a lovely comfortable room that was kept in tip-top shape all weekend (I think there is a resident ghost...

Nicely appointed hotel in rural surroundings. Lovely wood burning fire in the lounge. Red squirrels and blue tits just outside our window! Clean and tidy room, friendly service. Pet friendly for those with dogs. Our room was large and the bed was very comfortable. Nice big bath too. Decent selection of whiskey in the bar. Food is fantastic! Tasty, well...

We certainly enjoyed our weekend away at Overwater Hall. Everything about it is relaxing and comfortable, from the large bedrooms to the log fire crackling in the lounge. The restaurant deserves all the accolades and awards it has won - local ingredients expertly prepared and in proper portions - the flavours of a taster menu but enough to leave you...

Our stay at the Overwater Hall was fantastic from start to finish. We have stayed in several hotels recently and eaten in many restaurants but I cannot think of one that exceeds the exceptional standard set by Adrian and his team. On our arrival we were greeted by Stephen who treated us like long lost friends and helped with our...

This has to be the best new Year break that we have ever had. 2016 saw us eating and staying in several high class establishments but this beat the lot. The wonderful welcome by Stephen set the tone. The New Years Eve gala tasting dinner with specially selected wines was a sublime experience. Adrian is in charge but the amazing...
