I stayed here a few weeks ago, but very disappointed with my stay. Had a room in the annex but the shower did not work and there were no toiletries. Went down to the bar, took ages getting served, was about half hour despite it not being busy. The bar was freezing cold. Driving back from meeting in the afternoon... More

If your thinking of staying at the inn make sure you get what you pay for, I booked a £150 per night room with shower I'm afraid no shower, room No. 2 has a corner bath which was a waste of time, it took 25 minutes to have a reasonable amount of water in to wash, we had to share... More

Stayed here for the beer festival and what a weekend! Top notch food, accommodation, great music, best selection of beers I've seen in a long time. Rod, his lovely wife and the great staff made everyone feel like a little more than just another paying customer, you were a proper guest in this this place. Can't wait to visit again... More

Fantastic place and able to bring our Labrador. Food was amazing and room spotless. We didn't spend enough time here but went up to St Bees beach and had a wonderful time. We only booked a last minute trip and got a great price. We'll be back soon.

My fiancé and I stayed at Gosforth Hall this weekend while attending a friends wedding... What a great place it is! Barbara and Rod, and all of their staff are very welcoming and attentive! Our room was gorgeous, clean and the shower was amazing! Both nights we ate in the restaurant and the food was brilliant! You really can't beat... More

Food not good. We had sea bass & a pie. The sea bass & veg was pleasant enough but no flavour at all. The pie was with chips & veg but saturated in gravy. My partner described it as transport cafe food!

The room, while newly decorated was minimal to say the least. One chair at the dressing table, no mirror, no luggage stand and very few hangers in wardrobe. Having stayed in many top hotels I have certain expectation for a £160 price tag such as water in the room, quality toiletries and decent coffee and biscuits. The breakfast was mediocre,... More

The owners of Gosforth Hall Inn know how to tick all our boxes. Our stay this time was to meet family living locally and enjoy the beer festival. The new outside area is ideal for events, with seating for about 100 people and standing room for at least the same again. Which is just as well, as the festival was... More

I stayed in an annex rooms across the courtyard and it was a nice modern, clean room. Everything worked great except the Wi-Fi which was VERY hit and miss. It was lovely and quiet at night so no problems sleeping. Breakfast was served in the main hotel which is much older and a bit musty smelling. Breakfast was reasonable quality... More
