The shop sold a good selection of basic provisions, and the showers/toilets and washing up facilities were very clean, well lit and plentiful. There is plenty of parking around the site so you're not far away from your car and there is a few really good walks right on your doorstep. There is also a good pub that sells decent... More

This is our first camping trip as a family and it didn't disappoint. The campsite is found off a narrow and winding road and is a stone's throw from Wastwater Lake, right next to Scafell Pike. We stayed in a family pod for three nights, which had lighting, a small oil-filled radiator and electrical socket. This was a worthwhile expense... More

Found this place by accident, what a little gem, only planned on staying a night but wound up staying for three, pitch where you like, facilities include a basic shop, showers, laundry and washing up facilities, perfect place to pitch up and hike around, good pub 20 minutes walk away, and the best bit, no mobile signal at all, would... We stayed in the Great Langdale NT campsite before coming here and noticed a stark difference in the running of the 2 sites. Firstly, this site is a 'pitch up anywhere' place, meaning that you could end up close to other people who do not respect the 6 metre apart rule. On our first night we had plenty of space... More

Thank you for your feedback we are always happy to receive feedback to help improve our service. I was disappointed to hear about the issues regarding the proximity of a nearby tent to yours. If a staff member had been advised at the time we would have dealt with the situation promptly. A member of staff is contactable throughout the... More

This is the remotest area of the lake district. The national trust have achived a commendably low environmental impact campsite but with a good level of washroom facilities and a shop. Friendly, helpful and well informed staff. Maps and route cards available in the shop.

Great campsite nooks and crannies or large field. We were here at the end of half term and the weather was fantastic so didn't expect peace and quiet but 11pm and silence. Staff very nice and helpful giving advice on walks. Apparently had never been this busy!! Great shop with the coldest fresh orange juice. No complaints.

Fantastic location, drive to campsite is stunning as well. There were 6 of us camping which we were told they don't accept groups but as 2 of us were in a campervan they let us stay. This made us rather apprehensive that they were goi g to be really strict and we would be able to say boo to a... More

We stayed at this campsite last weekend. The campsite is in the most awesome location, the views are stunning. The weather was glorious. The campsite is a real escape from the rat race. We only stayed for the weekend to climb Scafell, could have cried when we left, I wanted to stay much longer. The staff were really helpful, we... More

Spent 3 days here in May / June. Campsite is in a stunning location. Stayed in a camping pod. Excellent value for money. Had a plug socket and small oil filled radiator for colder nights. If you fancy getting away from the rat race this site is perfect. No phone or 3 signal. Would have rated this site 5 stars... More
