A family group of eight of us visited earlier this week. All meals were delicious, huge (which mattered as we were very hungry campers) and swiftly cooked. Staff were extremely helpful & friendly, our group appreciated Wifi connection. Only disappointment was that the bouncy castle which our children had been eyeing up earlier that day was laying airless on the... More

The staff are helpful and attentive. The beer is well kept. The establishment is perfectly clean. The portions are big. It all just needs a little updating. Other than that everything is perfect. Would I go back? Yes without doubt.

We went here just for a drink with friends. It was busy, so nowhere to sit inside, but plenty of room outside, and the bouncy castle for the kids was ace! Kept them entertained for ages. Nice beer, and good selection, slow service.

I first went to this pub over 40 years ago and it doesn't appear to have changed a bit. Called in recently on a Thursday for lunch. I ordered ham, eggs and chips that actually arrived with peas and carrots. I expected the ham to be cut off a boiled ham or roasted gammon but this was shop bought boiled... More

Went here for evening meal. Staff were pleasant enough and the service was good. The first night we went the food seemed good so we decided to take our parents who came to visit us in the cottage we were renting up the road. Unforunately the food was very dissapointing and the portion sizes and quality was a lower standard... More

We love this pub! Johnty the owner is a real character.. But a great guy. Lovely food , great ales and beer garden. Eskdale is our favourite place in the lakes, beautiful scenery. A bouncy castle in the garden for the kids and games etc and snooker table. We cant wait to come back soon! Cheers!

A pleasant evening on the last day of our holiday, within walking distance from where we were staying. We enjoyed homemade meals and the best ales served by very friendly people. The menu is varied from starter to pudding at very good prices. Will return if we are in the area again. Thank you so much.

We stopped here for a quick lunch on our way back from wast water. Only two tables outside but we got there at 12.10 so we got a table. Lovely peaceful surroundings. Went inside to the toilets, it was very big with a pool table. Ladies were nice and clean. Staff are friendly. Had a jacket potato, was ok. Good... More

The food was lovely, chicken just falls apart when you put your fork in it - just the way I love it. The chips weren't like just eating a potato like some places, they were crispy and slightly browned which is also the way I love my chips. We managed all three courses and it was worth stuffing ourselves for!... More
