Aynsome Manor is the perfect base to enjoy Cartmel in the South Lakes, situated an easy twenty minute stroll from the centre of the village. The hotel is elegant and relaxing, and the staff are friendly, efficient and professional. Our room was large and beautifully furnished, with a comfortable bed, high quality linens, and an impressive shower. We very much... More

We stayed here for one night whilst cycling the Bay Cycle Way. Reception were very helpful storing our bikes in their tool shed and showing us up to our room. The hotel seems to be in a bit of a time warp. The decor in our room reminded me of an upmarket care home, even had a sink in the... More

Stayed two night at this family owned and run hotel on 16 and 17 August and could quite easily have stayed longer. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our room (12) to settle in. The room was larger than average, scrupulously clean with all the normal facilities included:- fully stocked refreshments tray, hairdryer etc with extra bedding and a... More

Short stay for a few nights in August. Comfortable good sized room with views. Modern en-suite with bath and shower over. Heated towel rail ensured dry towels. Chris is very attentive and helpful without being overbearing. Chris was extremely helpful in adjusting the menu to cater for my wife's milk allergy including offering additional options to the main menu. Dining... More

Courteous friendly staff. Rooms very comfortable and elegant. Sumptuous period lounge and dining rooms. Very clean and everything you would need supplied. Food was excellent. Best Panna Cotta I've ever had! Definitely recommend.

Excellent hotel. Made to feel welcome from the moment you walk through the door. Chris and Andrea are the perfect hosts. Nothing is too much trouble. Rooms very comfortable. Reception areas warm and homely with roaring open fires in the colder months. Fabulous breakfast and dinner serving fresh local produce.

Booked last minute using Sawday's reviews. So glad we did. 12 rooms, so small & cosy. Staff really kind & go over & above to make your stay memorable. Lovely views from the house, so be sure to have one of the many Whiskies on offer & sit outside of an evening & spot the deer cavorting over the landscape.... More

Lovely spot to stay, breakfast was lovely and room very quaint....will be back!! Didn't manage to get wifi working, but as we were out meeting friends in the village it wasn't an issue and I'm sure if we'd need it the helpful staff would have been able to fix it

Stayed for four nights at this Hotel. A traditional hotel nicely decorated in old fashioned style with fabulous views over the fields. Breakfasts were really good and the evening meals were substantial and very tasty. The proprietors were very helpful and we were looked after very well. It was very hot when we visited and because our room was on... More

We made a late one night booking at this hotel as we were going to Cartmel Horseracing & were able to walk to the course from it. We were pleasantly surprised & will definitely return. The hotel is old fashioned (but in a good way). The staff were friendly & helpful. The room was large & comfortable with everything you... More
