Excellent hotel. Made to feel welcome from the moment you walk through the door. Chris and Andrea are the perfect hosts. Nothing is too much trouble. Rooms very comfortable. Reception areas warm and homely with roaring open fires in the colder months. Fabulous breakfast and dinner serving fresh local produce.

Booked last minute using Sawday's reviews. So glad we did. 12 rooms, so small & cosy. Staff really kind & go over & above to make your stay memorable. Lovely views from the house, so be sure to have one of the many Whiskies on offer & sit outside of an evening & spot the deer cavorting over the landscape.... More

Lovely spot to stay, breakfast was lovely and room very quaint....will be back!! Didn't manage to get wifi working, but as we were out meeting friends in the village it wasn't an issue and I'm sure if we'd need it the helpful staff would have been able to fix it

Stayed for four nights at this Hotel. A traditional hotel nicely decorated in old fashioned style with fabulous views over the fields. Breakfasts were really good and the evening meals were substantial and very tasty. The proprietors were very helpful and we were looked after very well. It was very hot when we visited and because our room was on... More

We made a late one night booking at this hotel as we were going to Cartmel Horseracing & were able to walk to the course from it. We were pleasantly surprised & will definitely return. The hotel is old fashioned (but in a good way). The staff were friendly & helpful. The room was large & comfortable with everything you... More

My wife and I stayed here for one night at the end of a Lakes holiday. We were given a warm welcome and upon arrival, and at the advice of the owners we took a lovely walk up onto the fell beside the hotel which offered spectacular views from the Kent estuary across to the Lakes. The hotel is located... More

Beautiful place, good sized rooms, excellent staff, and great food. Very impressive. Chris and his staff are marvellous and really make you feel at home. Good location just outside Cartmel, and great as a base for touring the Lakes, or the weekend Horse Racing meetings. Will certainly return

Just spent a perfect stay at Aynsome Manor. The house is presented in a style that represents the age of the house. We we're welcomed by owner Chris who was friendly and informative. He suggested sandwiches to be left in our room for our return from the races. Really good idea!. The room was beautiful, clean and had everything we... More

My wife booked a bank holiday 2 night break here as a surprise for my 70th birthday as we could visit the racing on bank holiday Monday. A great find and as others have stated you judge its quality by the many regular visitors. Excellent food and service with attentive staff and unobtrusive management............a bonus was the glorious weather and... More

Probably the best value top quality hotel experience we've had for a long time. Staff are friendly and efficient, food is really fine dining and at unbelievably low cost from £25 for a two course meal! Wine list is good with very reasonable prices. Andrea, Michael and all the staff do a really great job to ensure you have an... More
