Awesome place to stop by for lunch. Stunning view from the outside tables. Great little walks close by to work up an appetite. I recommend the ribs on the menu. Staff are polite - we didnt stay over just ate and drank.

We stayed in Lyth Cottage which has three levels - the kitchen and dining area on the first level, the lounge on the second and the bedroom on the third. The bathroom is on the same level as the bedroom and is wonderfully clean and well equipped with bath, hand and rain shower. The water pressure is good and the... More

Sunday afternoon meal with family - took two hours to serve two courses . My wife and I both had pheasant - served still part raw - when complained just got a shrug from the staff as an unmet promise to investigate with the chef. Was not asked on paying bill how we found the meal- would have given a... More

Stopped in the Strawberry Bank Suite for two nights and the quality of the suite was very high. Lovely kitchen area as soon as you walk in, with everything you could possibly need for a short stay, lots of utensils, plates, pans, washing up liquid etc. The bedroom part of the room was also lovely, great four poster bed with... This pub is off the beaten track but well worth locating, it is always busy but don't let this put you off because it busy for a reason. The great choice of beers and wines with good food is not to be missed,I had the strawberry bank wild boar burger served in a sesame seeded bun with corn on the cob,... Called in for a drink and returned for lunch. Parking is somewhat hidden but once located is fine. Wonderful views over the valley. Bar is small and congested. However, the food and beer very good indeed and well worth the wait.

Dropped in for a quick bite on a Sunday lunchtime - mistake! Difficult parking, crowded pub, people and cyclists spilling into the awkward road junction. Best bits:- quick efficient bar service and helpful staff, clean toilets. Simple sandwich though cost over £5.

Gorgeous Sunday roast . Beef/ Yorkshire pudding , potatoes and veg. Desserts were great, custard tart with crushed strawberry ice cream . Will be returning very soon . The outside tables can't be booked so you need to get there early as it's very busy on sunny days.

The location is STUNNING - genuinely just driving to the pub was beautiful Perhaps it was just the table we were sat at, but the seats were benches which I found uncomfortable as there was nothing to lean back on. Don't wear a skirt here as the tweed seats are very itchy! Parking is also difficult as there is a... More
