Home cooked traditional food. Massive portions and well worth the money for such good heart warming food. Even got a slimming world page for those who are following the plan. Decor dated, but it's nice and clean. Would recommend.

Had this hotel recommended to me and it lived up to the hype. Handy location for Whitehaven and the western lakes. Very pleasant staff especially the barman who was helpful re bus/train times and the area in general. Food reasonably priced and well presented. All in all a pleasant weekend stay.

I have recently returned from a weekend, 2night stay at the Grove Court with my husband. Our main reason for the trip was to watch our beloved Leigh Centurions v Whitehaven RL. Cleator is less than 4 miles away from the Whitehaven ground so made an ideal base. The hotel is well situated and has lovely views across fields and hills.The... More

recently stayed here with husband and daughter (3). Nice and quiet. If you are checking in make sure you inform them. Breakfast was nice and room and clear and bright. Only negative comment is toilet seat was broken and room could have done with blackout blinds.

In the area for family funeral and stayed the night at this hotel. Room comfortable enough but basic. Breakfast plentiful but not great quality. Public toilets a disgrace and that is what lets this pretty looking hotel down. Inside does not live up to how it looks on the outside. Carpets very stained throughout hotel - nasty

Me and my partner found this hotel while looking to stay close to the wonders of the Lake District. We were very happy with our room, it was incredibly spacious, the bathroom was large and the bath itself could fit a small family. We did notice it was slightly dated but honestly that's not hurting anyone! We had a great... More

We stayed at the grove court for one night. The family room was spotlessly clean and spacious. As the building is an old school we had 3 big windows so the room was light and airy. The lady on reception was lovely and welcoming on arrival. Breakfast was nice and plenty of it Only one small point to add was... More

We stayed here to see family in the area and absolutely loved this hotel! Upon arrival the staff were very kind and helpful and showed us to our room which was very clean and cosy. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was brilliant, large choice of meals and the food tasted fresh. The next morning we had breakfast... More
