Group of 19 stayed 3 nights for a rowing club training camp. Great value for full board. Food was really very good and the self catering kitchen was really good between meals for post-training eating. Rooms are clean and basic. Bunk beds a bit small for 6'+ rowers but comfy enough. Showers were hot and toilets fine. Staff were really...

This was our first stop on our vacation and we loved it! Our young daughter was not feeling well, the staff went out of their ways to help us when they could. The grounds were beautiful. The food was delicious. The bagged lunches were delicious and filling. Great experience!

I've just returned home from a field trip to Keswick with university, we stayed at the Derwent Water Independent Hostel for 5 days (mon-fri) The Hostel itself is lovely and clean with spacious dorms and amenity space. Location - Very good. There is a good 30-minute hike up the waterfall to Ashness Bridge right next to the hostel, and it is about 15-20 minutes into Keswick Town by car. Cleanliness - Very good. Was very impressed by the standard of cleanliness in the hostel! Every place from the rooms to the toilets to the communal areas were...

This hostel felt more like a hotel- comfortable & spacious bedrooms, immaculate bathrooms and the option of ordering cooked meals. The staff are very friendly and will give you tips about what to do and see. Derwentwater lake is immediately in front of the hostel and there is a waterfall and some good walking trails just behind it, so you...

The breakfast here is quite nice, with a buffet and good coffee. The rooms are nice as well. They are outfitted with bunk beds as a hostel, but they are clean and comfortable. There is a waterfall outback as well to add to the grounds.

Just got back from a weekend at DIH and felt I needed to write a review in appreciation of the amazing staff. The hostel was lovely, situated on the shores of derewentwater with great views over Skiddaw and the surrounding fells. The rooms were basic, but clean and functional. It's dorm accommodation so eat plugs are a must! The food...
