My partner spent the past weekend here after a hectic few weeks. Alston is a very quiet location that may not appeal to everyone but it was what we needed. The hotel was small and well run. The staff were always ready to help and most importantly weren't 'in your face' and allowed us to simply chill in the cafe... More

Lovely place, nice room plenty of space, great food, especially breakfast and the cream tea in the afternoon after a long bike ride. Very friendly host's and staff. Stayed for two nights while on a cycling holiday. Nothing was too much trouble, even put the bikes inside for us at night. Would thoroughly recommend it, hoping to get back next... More

My fiancée and I visited the Alston House hotel as a birthday gift. We arrived in late evening and were greeted warmly and taken to our room which had a large comfortable double bed, plenty of surrounding space and an appealing large freestanding bath. We stayed for two nights. Breakfast on both days was excellent, with unusually high quality sausages... More

We arrived lunch time, but there were no staff to be seen! Eventually we were seated and ordered Tuna & Cheese Melt, which came with salad and chips. The presentation was straight out of "Great British Menu" and fortunately the food matched it. Really delicious!

Friendly greeting and comfortable clean good size room . Never been to Alston before and we were pleased with our choice of hotel . Staff are lovely here . Nothing was too much trouble . We could walk straight out of the hotel so the car never got used for 2 days . Car park directly outside .

We stayed for two nights at this hotel and had a relaxing break. Our room was lovely with a well equipped shower room. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. The breakfasts are cooked to order and arrive at the table piping hot, with good quality ingredients. We ate in the bar/restaurant and could not fault the standard of the... More
