What a fantastic place. Tucked away in a beautiful area of Cumbria. We booked last minute as we were waving our 18 year old off to start life in the merchant Navy and decided to break up the journey on the way home. We arrived to a very warm welcome and shown to our room, most hotels tend to just... More

Stayed here for 4 nights and yes I could have stayed longer. As we were traveling with a small dog we were given a downstairs room. When we arrived they had upgraded us to a family room. It was fabulous. Meals in the adjoining bar were great and we were allowed Crumble with using there. Breakfast was super. We ate... More

We stopped for one night in the 4 poster bedroom and found it extremely comfortable. The staff were very friendly and helpful too. We decided to eat in the restaurant in the evening where the prices were very reasonable, even the specials board. The breakfast was included in our £69 charge and hubby said the full English was delicious and... More

Good location outside of Alston. A comfortable hotel to stay at with decent food and drink. Very friendly staff and eager to please. Only able to stay one night in August but should we be in the area we will look to stay again.

We stayed for two nights with our children and in laws. Very welcoming, rustic charm throughout, great service, fabulous lounge to kick back, curl up and enjoy some family time. They made a gorgeous birthday cake for my mother in law, and made us feel very special. I haven't even arrived home yet and I've already booked for Christmas. Set... More
