2nd stay at the love lady and we were very disappointed. Firstly let me say the 7 course taster menu with wine was fantastic, but that was the only good thing I can say about our stay, we upgraded our room to a luxury room that looked lovely on the proffesional photos but when you actually get in the room...

A peaceful ,wild location in a charming building. Both breakfast and evening tasting menu were very good indeed. We had a room for dog owners and there were odd indications of previous doggy visitors. All in all a really comfortable home from home where any features associated with the age of this house struck me as charming.Penrith is close by and...

We stayed at cottage in the grounds of this hotel for new year with friends and it was lovely. We went to the hotel for new years eve the food was amazing and the company was great. It is very unassuming and friendly but offers cosy fires and lovely lounges. The staff were brilliant we would go back

Lovely little hotel for a romantic break. Absolutely outstanding food. Great family run friendly atmosphere. Meals at this hotel are not just the usual they are an experience! Only small advice I would give is to possibly consider tidying up the entrance as when my husband and I arrived we thought we had taken the wrong entrance and ended up...

This was our second visit in five years and little has changed. This is a country house experience with large rooms and a wonderful dining experience. Again, the food and wine could not be faulted. These seem to be the passions of the owner who is affable and appropriately attentive. Our four course dinner was definitely fine dining and the...

A group of 12 of us stayed one night on December 8th 2016. The hotel was beautiful and the rooms warm, clean and comfortable with a roaring log fire in our sitting room. We had the 4 course meal which was absolutely delicious, as was the breakfast. All the staff were lovely. We would definitely visit again. A fantastic walking...

All you needed to do was knock on the door office and they will help you if you need it. The Restaurant: This was a very pleasant place to be....

Just a one night stay for our wedding anniversary which include bed and breakfast, an eight course Taster Menu evening meal and an opportunity to sample several wines. A warm welcome on arrival and shown to a cosy bedroom with a huge and comfortable bed. Our multi course evening meal can only be described as faultless and the wines presented...

Just back from a stay here. Didn't feel like a hotel, more that you were staying in someone's home. Which in my book is hard to achieve and brilliant when it is. The food on the other hand was definitely not home cooking. , it was amazing and more than worthy of its numerous accolades. The mine host was a...
