The Wild Boar is centred on a Victorian Gothic Tower full of character. I understand the hotel is currently subject to a change of ownership. I only ask that the new owners appreciate the dedication of existing staff and the quality of service and don't throw baby out with the bath water.

Fantastic value for money on a Living Social deal. The Hotel building is amazing. Large bedroom and bathroom. Well decorated and clean. Good view over cornfield and large opening window, which was a blessing as we were there on the hottest day of the year so far. Very quiet at night. Tea/coffee making facilities provided. Double bed and smaller single.... More

We have just returned from 2 nights at the wild boar. Highly recommended. The staff were so friendly and helpful and created a lovely atmosphere in the hotel. Nothing was too much trouble. The food in the brasserie was delicious, so good we ate in both nights rather than go into chester. Breakfast was standard but more than adequate. Rooms... More

just got back from a couple of nights and got to say i loved this place. Set in the middle of open fields with superb views, this is a great traditional old time hotel. Room was great (tho the view from our room wasn't) with a great buffet style breakfast with everything that you would want. Wifi signal was good... More

Came here on a groupon afternoon tea voucher. The service was friendly and the building is very impressive. Go and have a look at the penthouse suite used for wedding ceremonies! The afternoon tea was not huge but it was all fresh and home made.. We were asked if we wanted a top up of tea and we had a... More

Stayed for two nights with my husband, the look of the hotel from outside was very impressive however once inside it was obvious it was in need of being refurbished. The room was clean but the bed was small. The breakfast was just warm and not that good, no information was given by staff when being seated, you can ask... More

Second time visiting this hotel with my partner and friends! Lovely hotel, responsible priced and in a good area for walking! Rooms are lovely, abit dated and carpets could do with being replaced but still nice with good views and comfy beds and breakfast is lovely! Defiantly will be visiting again!

We enjoyed a 2 night stay for exploring Chester and it's surroundings. We had a large double room, nicely presented at the rear of the hotel overlooking fields - very quiet. Excellent evening meals in the Dining Room which was also the location for a hearty breakfast buffet each morning. Excellent value for money.

Looks amazing from the outside but in desperate need of the re-ferb they informed us is going to happen. Our room was beyond tired, it was down and out and not clean. When I went to put our toothbrushes into the glasses in the bathroom one of them still had toothpaste stains from the previous occupants. When I took it... More
