I have stayed at the Swan in Tarporley for a number of years on a number of occasion, on my own and sometimes in groups of up to 8 people. They hotel is great, the daily staff are customer focused and very helpful and the rooms, especially the new outbuilding rooms are very comfortable, well decorated and organised. So why... More

Staying in the area for the cheese show. And really spoilt as this is a lovely hotel. The staff are really friendly & it's a great price too. My room over looked the high street with beautiful triple Windows allowing lots of light in. Early morning church bells to listen too. The bed was really comfy & the bathroom clean... More

This is a super place to stay, especially if you are a foreign visitor looking for atmospheric old English pub style accommodation. The place is extremely well run. Breakfast was very good. Because of its associations with the local Hunt and farming community, the Swan is decorated with interesting paintings, etc. Our room had every comfort but was tiny; for... More

I stayed with the Swan in Tarporley on 16th July 2016 as I was in town for a friend's wedding. I was travelling alone and stayed in a single room: 6. During my evening out elsewhere I fell down some steps and broke my ankle. Back at the Swan, the staff were very helpful and friendly, I was very impressed.... More

A very comfortable and pleasing one night stay. The hotel has so much history, each room is not quite like anything I've seen before but it coheres into a single enjoyable whole. Evening dinner was excellent and the "smaller plate" option is welcome and done just right. Breakfast was also excellent. Such friendly and helpful staff, a well managed hotel.... More

We were trying to find somewhere still serving roast dinner at 7pm on Sunday evening - called the Swan and they were so we called in - it was our first visit. I can't praise the whole experience enough. My partner finds goose fat hard to stomach - they prepared some roast potatoes specially for us. The meal - the... More

Needed to break the journey from further North to the South East (told wife I was tired?!) She agreed to stop and we were very pleasantly rewarded by the comfortable room (19) in a stable type outbuilding - scrumptious food and a good range of beer and wine. Happy days! Recommended to the business traveller, tourist, romantic alike. Not recommended... More

Nice room at the top and front of the property. A little noisy when customers were leaving at the end of the night, but only briefly. Dim lighting in the bedroom i.e. no good if a lady wants to apply make-up in a well-lit mirror. Dinner ok, nothing special (Swan burger), but very good nibbles on offer - pieces of... More

It's not often you find such a good place to stay, so impressed, booked again, before someone else got the last room. The little extras, fresh milk, real coffee , really make a difference. The staff where all excellent and added to the cheerful feel of the place. Dinner & breakfast both really good , do try the black pudding... More

Friendly staff lovely rooms although could do with a lick of paint. Paint peeling off the walls as you go up the stairs. We stayed in a room with 4 poster bed which was really comfortable. I can also recommend the restaurant. Although looking a bit tired it's worth a visit.
