4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Stayed at the Bears Head, Brereton, Sandbach, for one night, using a Virgin Experience voucher we received as a joint Christmas present. Thanks to good old SatNav we were taken right to the door of this lovely ancient hotel - off the beaten track, which may be hard to find otherwise. A very picturesque building in a lovely country village.... More

Stayed here with my wife and 2 kids in a family room. Very clean and nice. Free WiFi. Bathroom was fine. We weren't woken up at all...noise was not an issue for us. We had a room that faced the main road and didn't really notice. Had a meal in the pub next door...it was excellent. Lots of nice walks... More

Booked here as we were going to the Rewind Festival at Capesthorne House, the staff checked us in no problem and were very nice and helpful, they also booked us a table for our evening meal. We choose the lamb but they had none left but what we ate was lovely and reasonably priced. Our room was 209 please avoid... More

Stopped here working away with work, the rooms are just ok, bathroom was very outdated. I didn't eat in the pub but it did look nice, I also seen a few reviews saying that the food was good... So I cannot pull it on that. The walls are so thin though, I could hear a man and a woman next... More

The bedroom was nice apart from ant repellant all over the floor near the radiator pipe. Windows were filthy and nets needed a bleach. Bathroom grout was grotty and dead flies on ceiling. We loved the pub though fab food and great staff. I will review the pub seperate will give 5 stars. Rooms need a good clean

The room and inn itself are good. However the room we were in was over the back of the bar / restaurant and we were woken at 7.30am by glass bottles being disposed, staff talking quite loud and delivery trolleys coming in and out. In addition the floor in the hall outside our room was noisy also. Other that this... More

We have stayed at innkeepers before and mainly had good experiences. The room was adequate if a bit tired. Bathroom grouting in shower needed replacing. One window was double glazed and the other single glazed and needed replacing. The main issue with the paper thin walls. We could hear people walking above us, the guy next to us used his... More

So it's 1.30 am and for the third night running we are being kept awake by noisy guests and no one in charge (at least no one who will answer the phone) to sort it out. There seems to be little encouragement for guests to be quite after 11. It's A pity as the room is lovely and bed comfortable... More

We have stayed at vintage inns before so we thought we would give this one a try for a few days - We stayed for 3 nights in room 212 - This room has to be the worst one ever. Located on the top floor and up several steps (no lift) the room was spacious and clean so we were... More

Lovely inn, nice rooms and tasty food. The stay included a Continental brekki which consisted of breads, pastries, cereals, fruit and tea or coffee. This was more than adequate for myself, husband and my boys. The lady looking after the brekki was very friendly and a definite asset to the Cheshire Cat. When checking in there was confusion with our... More
