We stayed here on Sunday to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We'd heard good things about the rooms at the Cat but were left a little bit underwhelmed. The room was average, nothing which made it special or stand out from a chain hotel (e.g. Premier inn), although we did like the cat wallpaper. The super king size bed was very... More

We arrived having spent 3 weeks touring Britain and with great expectations which sadly were misplaced. The room was small with a big bed and a wet room that flooded when using the shower. We booked for both Friday and Saturday night and having gone to bed on the Friday we were kept awake until 2.30am by music so loud... More

If you are in town for a wedding or party then the title of the review should not put you off. If you are visiting for a quiet weekend and you value your sleep then perhaps look elsewhere. Lovely room, small but with nice facilities. Central location, close by parking. Reasonably priced food.

Visited with 2 friends, had mains and a dessert. The food was gorgeous. My friend had the Caesar salad which he loved, myself and my other friend had the chicken breast accompanied with mushrooms, tomato, hand cut chips and a watercress garnish. Which was also lovely! Compliments to the chefs. The service was quick and the waitress who served us... More

Staff here are lovely & helpful but there definitely needs to be an upgrade to rooms & breakfast to warrant charging £110 for a night. The bed in Room 5 has an extremely lumpy & uncomfortable mattress which needs replacing. The decor is basic & the hairdryer did not seem to work. The shower is great but the Lino floor... More

It's been a busy couple of weeks, only just had chance to write this, well worth the mention. Brought my family here for my daughters birthday; excellent service, staff are so helpful and friendly, food was superb, we can't recommend enough.

Have to say from the start the staff are young and very friendly!! Stayed for one night on a Saturday and the room was small and fairly basic in a separate newish building across the courtyard from the old historic building. The TV had a spasmodic freeview signal and dodgy remote control. Bathroom was an "all in one wet room"... More

Stayed 1 night with 2 friends. You check in at the bar and we we received a very friendly welcome from the 2 young staff. We were shown to our room which turned out to be an apartment just across the little lane from the pub, in a modern block. It was well equipped, one-bedroom with a sofa bed in... More

Hi Carol, Thank you so much for taking the time to write a great, informative review! Noise is never an issue during the week but like any town centre location some noise from revellers is to be expected on a weekend. I have passed your comments onto the team and onto Callum who was delighted with his mention. Hope to... More

Nice rooms at the back of this popular pub & restaurant which is in a great location on Welsh Row in the centre of town. Comfortable room with nice furnishings and surprisingly quiet. Ample parking to the rear

We met friends and Had a great night socialising in the cat on Saturday evening. Didn't move on to anywhere else. All the Staff were lovely and friendly, especially Joe who served us along with Cal at the bar. Will definitely be returning for another night out soon.
