An initial problem was that we got lost following the Hotel’s direction instructions from Junction 6 of the M6 ! Despite this the hotel was very good, room excellent, staff well trained, pleasant and friendly. In the evening over 50 of us sat down and enjoyed an excellent meal. Breakfast the next morning was good. The only complaint was that our ordered beef sandwich was awful. It arrived swimming in gravy from the Carvery table. Coleslaw and salad were also tainted by gravy. We needed many serviettes to clean up the consequences of the catastrophe, supposed to be a sandwich. It should have been sent back. So, all in all a very good hotel with an excellent Dinner. Just avoid the beef sandwiches.

A superior room was downstairs next to the gym. The room was not superior, the gym was not a gym. This is not a hotel, simply a motel. The receptionist was sour and surly. Breakfast was ok. Rooms were clean but smelled of shake and vac a la 1978. Really tired, uninspiring and unwelcoming.

We recently held our Soroptimist International 70th Celebration at Hunters Lodge. We had a wonderful day. The rooms were all ready for us and were correct, and the staff was always on hand to help us. We had a buffett lunch which was excellent. All the food was freshly prepared and there was plenty of it. In the evening we had a Gala dinner and again the food was excellent. All in all we had a memorable day helped very much by the really excellent service we received from the Hotel. Thank you to all concerned.

We were traveling in a group of 17 and all enjoyed our stay here. Particular thanks to Bernie and her team who couldn't have been more accommodating when we asked the night before if we could get 17 breakfasts on the table at 7.15 the next morning. The hotel we stayed in the night before took 45 minutes to get an omelette out and 20 mins for toast so we were anxious not to waste time as we were doing a 500k charity cycle. On the dot the next morning everything was served hot and with a smile. Good job team - it made such a difference to our day! The rooms were comfortable and the food for dinner and breakfast was tasty. Well done everyone at Hunters Lodge!
