My husband & I stayed for two nights with Secret Escapes deal. Had a wonderful suite - bed extremely comfy Bathroom was very clean - looked as if it had been recently re-furbished. We had a three course meal included on our first night which was very enjoyable. Staff were very friendly. Enjoyed our stay Many thanks :)

This place needs booting into the 21st century, it's fine telling everyone how quaint the building is, but a Hotel must be functional. Secondary double glazing to the main street facing windows would at least reduce the noise from the 4 am market stall set ups, delivery lorries and abounding drunks. Breakfast was minimal and not well presented, there seem... More

Rooms need updating. Very old and tired. Was given a room very very long way from reception along very dark corridors up and down lots of stairs. Very surprised on going down to find some food. Lovely modern bar area and good menu. Food cooked well. Pleasant staff. Car park a long way from reception. No offer to help with... More

Visited for a Xmas party night, if you could call it that! A large group of us attended just before Xmas 2015. I think the room was called the trumpet room. The usual kind of party night set up was what we expected. £30 a head, Xmas dinner, disco etc.....the reality was quite different! All food had been pre ordered... More

There is nothing like this hotel/restaurant in Wisbech so, because its the only one they could make it absolutely fabulous. Went in on Sunday after Christmas not even serving coffee ! Went in today, serving snacks in bar/library area but no sandwiches! If they lit a fire or had a log burner - I know, I know, Health & Safety... More

I've stayed three times I the last couple of months and all have been good. The first room I stayed in was a bit bleak (imagine the maids room in a old house) but was £45 on laterooms. The other two rooms have been lovely though more around the £75 mark. The hotel is old and has historic interest. It... More

Travelling solo for business, convenient location and parking on site was helpful. Room was a decent size with a very comfy bed. TV signal in room was intermittent but wifi was reliable. Evening meal was absolutely delicious and bar staff very helpful. Only gripe would be the service at breakfast- I waited 15 mins for someone to appear in restaurant,... More

We had our wedding reception at the Rose & Crown following our wedding abroad a month earlier. As such we wanted the room decorated as a wedding reception should be, but without food, as it was a celebratory party for family and friends who couldn't make the wedding. Anne, the organiser, was very friendly, but lacked a little in organisational... More

A group of 10 of us stayed and thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff couldn't have been better and the building was old and very interesting. It was getting a little tatty in places though (our shower didn't work) and other people said various things were wrong with their rooms, but nothing show-stopping. The evening meal was average pub grub but... More

Had to stay in Wisbech overnight for business. Would normally stay in faceless motels but happened upon the Rose and Crown, what a gem! Old coaching house built spanning two streets the place is steeped in history and space, staff are great and the room was comfortable and full of character. Would recommend and will definitely stay next time in... More
