Living close by we decided to pop in for a evening meal. Great welcome by the staff, beer was very good as well. Unfortunately, the reason we had gone, the food, spoilt the entire experience. i had to send mine back as it was burnt and my wife's looked just unappealing. Will be sticking to the pub in Needingworth from...

My wife and I have just returned from a four night stay at the Old Ferry Boat Inn. We wanted a quiet hotel, within easy travel to Cambridge, and The Old Ferry Boat seemed to fit the bill. The Hotel is situated in Holywell, which is a small village on the banks of the Great Ouse, it has a church,...

I have to admit that I booked lunch at the Ferry Boat mainly because it's close to where I live but mainly because it's dog friendly. They really welcome dogs and don't just tolerate them. We had the ultimate fish and chips for three, scampi for one and the sea bass risotto for one. All were very good, no complaints....

We recently celebrated our daughter's 21 birthday at the Ferryboat. They catered for our group of 25 and we had a celebration to remember. The staff were both attentive and discreet, enabling the family to enjoy the event.

Another visit to the wonderful old ferry boat inn. Even on a depressing day the welcome was warm and cheery. Service was quick and the food was well prepared and presented Fish and chips with mushy peas was the choice. First the bad points, the mushy peas were a disappointment as a very small quantity was the portion. I left...

This is an interesting pub with a legend of being haunted. The food was basic and looked "bulk bought" certainly not home-made on the premises, however the price reflected this. It was a bit disconcerting to see a rat outside but being close to the river I expect this is why. A good place for dog walkers and to sit...

We come here often. It's sort of our local We ordered a roast chicken dinner and two burgers. We had to send the chicken back after only a few mins as every mouthful was a bone so was put right off... I think they chopped the chicken with a cleaver which shattered most of the bones which were left in...

Cosy atmosphere friendly staff. Lovely in summer outdoor seating next to river. Parking spaces . In winter real fire gives the place a warm cosy feeling. Food is average but ok for prices charged. Book in advance at busy times and holidays
