This is an interesting pub with a legend of being haunted. The food was basic and looked "bulk bought" certainly not home-made on the premises, however the price reflected this. It was a bit disconcerting to see a rat outside but being close to the river I expect this is why. A good place for dog walkers and to sit...

We come here often. It's sort of our local We ordered a roast chicken dinner and two burgers. We had to send the chicken back after only a few mins as every mouthful was a bone so was put right off... I think they chopped the chicken with a cleaver which shattered most of the bones which were left in...

Cosy atmosphere friendly staff. Lovely in summer outdoor seating next to river. Parking spaces . In winter real fire gives the place a warm cosy feeling. Food is average but ok for prices charged. Book in advance at busy times and holidays

Arrived just after 11am, as we entered, was stared at. Asked if a table was available to which we were shown on in a corner. As we made our way over, we were told they don't open until 12. Might be worth changing their opening hours on their website. Felt very awkward and unwanted! A group of four adults and...

We called by at lunchtime with friends and were quickly allocated a table. The order was placed at the bar and in a reasonable time the food arrived well presented and hot. I had "hunters chicken" which was a traditional pub meal with French fries and coleslaw while my wife had a beetroot and goat cheese risotto with rocket. That...

Traditional pub food & part of the English inn group. Great location, on the river ouse, lovely staff who were really helpful, food was great, Malbec went down easily enough & the chocolate brownie for dessert looked great... I say looked as my wife scoffed the lot! Definitely will be going back! We had a lovely winters day with winter...

We stayed here for just one night to celebrate my Wife's birthday. We had never been to Holywell before and were pleasantly surprised by the picturesque village as we drove through. The Inn is situated on the river bank and looks quite stunning from the outside. Inside , it has all the charm of a genuine Old English Inn and...
