Had a lovely weekend here with my husband researching the villages nearby for my family tree. Gorgeous very old cottage, most comfortable beds, very soft mattress. Jeff the owner was wonderful so welcoming and made you feel at home. Help yourself breakfast of cereals and toast, fruit and yogurt, lovely tea and coffee always available it was perfect for us. The room we had was beautiful, very clean and spacious, the floor is wonderfully wonky as you would expect in a cottage of this age with little curved wooden stairs to get to it, reminded me of my childhood. Parking is not always available right outside the cottage in this lovely quaint road but didn't cause us any issues at all. TV and free WiFi and a great selection of dvd's if you wanted a night in with a film. There is also a market in the town on the first Sunday of each month, sorry we missed it. We loved it here!!!! would definitely go back.…
Have just returned from a 4 night stay, wish it could have been longer! Really tasteful quaint cottage, with lots of character, and lovely antique furniture, in keeping with the property. Amazing huge comfy bed, and very nice, clean en suite bedroom. Jeff was very warm and welcoming and very helpful in every way. Would definitely recommend, and hope to stay again 🤞
Visited for a family funeral and with The Bell hotel full, found Jeff’s place round the corner. Excellent choice, cheaper and loads of character! The room had more nice touches than most expensive hotels and the place has a charming relaxed vibe. We don’t usually stay in B&B’s but Jeff is easy going, knowledgable and welcoming. Highly recommend.
Jeff the owner was very accommodating with casual check in and departure times and we were made to feel very welcome in his home. The rooms were clean, fully equipped with sundries and towels and with a quaint, homely, cottage, charm. Breakfast was continental with a good range of cereal, fruit, bread and coffee and teas. Jeff was very knowledgeable on the local areas and restaurants and always had time for a chat. Winslow has a lovely charm about it with Bletchley Park, Buckingham and Stowe within easy reach. We would certainly recommend the Old Stables for a welcoming stay.
The property is situated down a quiet country lane in the pretty village of Winslow, yet it is very convenient for pubs, restaurants and shops. We were made most welcome and we were impressed with the immaculate condition of the interior and exterior of the cottage, Jeff was very welcoming and convivial, providing us with unlimited tea and biscuits. Inclement weather wouldn't be a problem because you would get a chance enjoy the cosy lounge, with it's comfortable furniture and log fire. We have never been in a more relaxed B&B, our visit was more like being invited into someone’s home and our host seemed genuinely pleased to see us.
