Booked an Afternoon Tea for my daughter's 21st. It was perfect! The setting was amazing, food was wonderful and the service second to none. We were offered more sandwiches, which was a really lovely touch and tea was topped up as and when needed. If I had to find fault, my one criticism would be the thickness of the Roast Beef in the sandwich, just a little too chewy maybe. Other than that, would totally recommend and will definately be booking again.
We booked a private dining room for friends and family to celebrate our Golden Wedding. On of the best decisions we have ever made. From the moment we made contact nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Danica and Thalia organised every detail to perfection, the food, wines were all excellent, the staff on the day of Lukasz, Dennis, Louis and others are excellent at their jobs, every guest whim was catered for, it was not only service with smile they all seemed to anticipate our guests requirements and satisfied every request. We could not have been more delighted with the way our day turned out. Well done Cliveden and all your staff
This is an incredible hotel, staff are impeccable, food is fantastic and the rooms are sublime. Make sure you use the Spa, both the indoor and outdoor pools are heated and the temperature is perfect. There are also 3 Jacuzzis, two outside and one inside.
A stunning venue for any occasion (weekend retreat, birthday celebration, wedding or some time to pamper yourself). Everything is of exceptional quality. The team are friendly and helpful. Food delightful. What more could you ask for…not a lot to be honest.
Magnificent Italianate house in beautiful gardens (the third on this site) Its history is written in stone, and reflected in the many photographs and grand paintings of its owners, from the Duke of Buckingham in 1666 to the Astors who bought the present house in 1893 and furnished it with panelled wood from Louis XV’s Chateau. The house and grounds are majestic; the rooms luxurious and the staff helpful & attentive. You feel like a house guest in a beautiful stately home.
My friends and I spent a lovely day at Cliveden. We enjoyed the gardens, had lunch in a picnic area, had tea & scones in a conservatory and bought some lovely things in the gift shop. It is a wonderful place for all ages as long as the weather is good.
My family and I visited here on a day trip and oh my, what beautiful gardens and grounds there are. It was really lovely walking around and exploring all the areas. I can't believe I haven't visited before and will definitely be returning soon!
Stayed for 4 days/3 nights in a Classic room. Had a lovely experience. The room was large and comfortable, with a sofa and lots of amenities. Bed and pillows were soft and inviting. The grounds are absolutely stunning. We were there for the 3 rainy days of that week, but somehow, the mornings and evenings were dry and sometimes sunny which made for wonderful walks. Had dinner at both the Astor Grill and Cliveden Dining room. Both memorable in different ways, but the experience in the Cliveden dining room was exceptional. First class food in a first class setting with first class service. Also rounded up the visit with a boat cruise on the Belmont down the Thames. Yet another lovely experience. Didn't go to the spa, but it certainly looked inviting. I had very high expectations coming into Cliveden, and must say that the hotel met and/or exceeded them.…
The grounds, building, rooms, decor are all incredible. The service was top class from the doorman, receptionist, service and all F&B. Quality of the food, ingredients and beverage all 5 star. We are excited to come back and stay again. Memory forever.
When I first entered, I saw wilted flowers on display in the lobby/reception area, and I had a feeling things might be less than expected. An important issue for me is that the two restaurants, formal and relaxed, were disappointments. The more formal restaurant was disappointing because the food was not better than average and the wine list was not accurate. Too many wines out of stock. The restaurant staff were very good though. Friendly and helpful. The food and service at the less formal restaurant was below average. The other issue for me was security. The area I stayed in had a side door off a hallway that did not lock. I didn't see any security there and the property is next to a heavily visited area with gardens. The security I saw was at the front entrance. Maybe there was CCT, but in any case, anyone could enter or exit an unlocked door very close to my hotel room door.…
