This was the second time I have been taken to Cliveden for dinner, bed and breakfast. We were lucky each time to visit on a warm sunny day when we were able to enjoy the afternoon at the famous swimming pool.(Memories of Christine Keeler!) Dinner looking out over the terrace is excellent, but if you want a table right by... More

The "country house" hotel is a challenge. There is a desire on the part of the management and customer to create an environment that doesn't exist as a tribute to times past while a stay in a large country house is, in my experience, extremely informal and where meals are eaten in the kitchen. So, it is a challenge to... More

Great venue, Beautiful house & grounds. Went for a birthday meal very enjoyable. Service very good. Our table overlooked the gardens. Fantastic view. Dinner very good recommend the Rice Pudding Souffle. Mains Pigeon & Lamb very good. Would have it again, will look forward to our next meal there. Go!

In the day the plebs could walk around a few rooms of this luxury hotel but now the only way to glimpse the interior a littel except staying at 400 pounds a night is afternoon tea at 40 pounds a throw. To celebrate a sister's retirement from 21 years Headship we took her there and enjoyed excellent service , good... More

Whilst the surroundings and service were superb, I found the food very disappointing. It was generally very bland and certainly did not compare with other restaurants with similar pricing. The food was nowhere near as good as it used to be and I will not be returning.

Very much a balance of sentiment and thank you for the kind comments about the team and setting. So sorry to learn that the food was not enjoyed. André is a very classically trained chef and depth of flavor is what he prides himself on. We will use your feedback wisely. Kind regards Sue W More

We gathered in a private room to celebrate a 50th anniversary. The sense of occasion was enhanced by the beautiful surroundings. We were wonderfully looked after from the moment we crossed the threshold. The food was just exquisite, beautifully presented on the plate, and each course absolutely divine. A most memorable evening, befitting the occasion.

A group visit to this N T property, a lovely day to walk through the gardens and then in the park. We were shown round some of the rooms later in the day. The history of this house is extremely interesting and the guide was very good at telling us all about the people who lived here. We enjoyed a... More

We just came back from a weekend break at Cliveden. The service provided by the front of house team was just exeptional. Jeremie was amazing and an enormous help in planning and making sure we 'made the most' of our weekend. The rest of the team were exceptionally polished and friendly, our meal at Andre Garrett was wonderful, and The... More

As a national trust member it was a disappointment that we could not really access the house, but nice views over the valley and an impressive park. Loved the long garden, the water garden and the maze. You can have afternoon team in the lobby or a lighter meal in a small outside cafe by the parking lot.

Had afternoon tea here for my wife's birthday, was lovely food, great service and fantastic setting. Need to book in advance as always busy! Would recommend it if you get a chance but make sure you have your national trust card with you or you'll get charged extra
