Situated in the centre of picturesque Old Amersham, this is quaint, 600 year old building has been well adapted to provide good accommodation. The staff are right on top of their game as I discovered when I left a jacket behind and they not only packed it up and returned it me within a couple of days, the small change... More

Slightly disappointed here. We were given an "executive room" which turned out to be in the annexe.it was quite small though comfortable, when you book into a hotel this old it would have been nice to have stayed in the main hotel. The room looked a bit tired with drab colours , there were bleach stains on the carpet and... More

Thank you for your positive rating and detailed feedback. We are in the process of planning refurbishment to give the rooms a fresh look. I am sorry that late night revellers disturbed you and I very much appreciate the detailed commentary on breakfast which will help us improve our offering. Peter More

I was in Amersham for 6 nights and was lucky enough to stay at the Kings Arms. I am not usually a fan of small local hotels when I am on a business trip, I prefer the big chains that cater to business travelers. And my experiences with quaint 500 year old hotels in Britain has not always been good.... More

Thank you for this. Getting positive reviews from seasoned business travellers is particularly important to us and I was delighted to read that we match our bigger competitors. I am also delighted to have reviews that mention staff by name as it shows they have made a positive impact on guest experience. Peter More

There's a lot to like about this hotel - the area is lovely and parts of the building are historic and charming. Parking is free and very convenient. There are well-kept, interesting real ales at the bar. The cooked breakfast is top sausage (though a veggie option should really be offered) and the staff, fronted by Jess, are helpful and... More

Jasper Thank you for the positive review and the very detailed feedback. Clearly a couple of housekeeping and maintenance issues were not up to scratch and they will be dealt with. I also enjoyed your prose, particularly the Ridley Scott reference. But on a serious note - your feedback is greatly appreciated. Peter More

I stayed here for 1 night with colleagues and the hotel was very nice indeed. Rooms were large and well equipped and he front of house staff on reception, bar and restaurant were great. Will be back most certainly and fun evening and enjoyable stay.

Popped in for lunch on a Saturday - bar had a good range of ales, not just the ones you always see (the watercress ale was good!). Both of us had a sandwich - which were good, high quality - though the addition of french fries, rather than chips was the only let down - and for £8 each this... More

I stayed here with my other half for one night, it was the perfect stay for couples as its really romantic. We got to the hotel and found out we were in a standard room but the lovely receptionist (Nelli) upgraded us to a suite, which was so lovely of her! The room comes with cute little jugs with sweets... More

we have often had lunch at this hotel but decided to stay for a night to see what it was like, Well it was lovely, the bedroom was small but delightful, the staff could not do enough and met friends for dinner, really lovely, not an extensive menu but beautifully presented and a real pleasure to visit.

Attended this lovely hotel in a very attractive area for a very significant family occasion. The place is wonderful but the quality of food and the service was poor. We had to choose what we wanted to eat weeks in advance ( how do you know what you want to eat in two months time?) Menu was very limited. I... More
