I stayed at the AMC Lodge campsite on a Saturday, then hiked Cardigan Mtn on Sunday. We arrived too late to get dinner, but we set up the tents and went back into town for dinner. The lodge staff were great - they gave me some wood for the fire and we hung out at the campfire (s'mores for the... More

My city-dwelling family has just started venturing into outdoorsiness, and this is a great, easy place to do it. The lodge itself is comfortable and clean, but what really makes us return is the welcoming atmosphere. It's okay not to be an expert yet, there's plenty of gear to borrow if you're not ready to invest in your own backpack... More

My 10 year old son and i had a great time staying at the lodge for 2 nights. Our guides were Eliza who led a hike to Welton falls which was beautiful, and Katie who helped us get to the top of Cardigan. The beds and bathrooms were better than I expected. The food was good enough. We will definitely... More

Just got back from a great group getaway weekend for families with young children. We had the entire lodge Friday night and about 2/3rds of our group stayed on the 2nd night either in the lodge or at a campsite. The kids ranged from 6 months to 9 years old. It was perfect. This was our second year with this... More

Our family had a great time at this AMC lodge. We had a group of families with kids and the staff was super friendly and able to handle a bunch of toddlers running around. The food was delicious and the rooms were comfortable. The naturalists were knowledgeable and offered great programming that the kids were interested in. There are hikes... More

Had a Great time at a weekend AMC training- Even though I live and frequent the trails on the other side of Cardigan Mountain, I don't get over to the Alexandria side as much as I like- Now I'll be sure to take that extra trip! Tons of great trails and an awesome lodge- Very clean with good food and... More

I had a great weekend at the Cardigan Lodge for an AMC-organized wilderness first aid course, the third time I've been here. There are beautiful hikes up to Mt. Cardigan and Firescrew, and to nearby Welton Falls. The lodge has a cozy and relaxing atmosphere inside and out, with the deck, bonfire ring, and pond. The staff and Tom's cooking... More

I was recently at AMC for a SOLO Wilderness First Aid course. The staff at the lodge went above and beyond their duties to make sure that all of us were happy and comfortable. The food was delicious and the bonfire on Saturday night was extra special. I was also able to hike to the waterfall, which was spectacular. I... More

Great place to stay and lots of friendly people. Food is great before and after the hiking. They also have a store for gear and stuff that will come in handy if you forgot to pack something. Fun place!

I stayed here with a group of hikers from the Boston Chapter of the AMC. I can't say enough about this place. Our first night we were greeted by management, Tom and Peter who provided us with all the necessary information we needed to make our stay enjoyable. They could not have been more accommodating by making each of us... More
