We just came back from our third visit to Catalonia Royal Tulum resort and we had an amazing time! We love Riviera Maya and this place has the best beach we have ever seen after visiting many others in the past, “Xpu-ha beach”, something is something out of the way! The grounds, pools and rooms are beautiful and well maintained, all the staff is so kind and friendly, I wish I could name all of them to thank and recognize the great job they are doing, thanks to Xóchitl and Isabel at reception, Miguel from guest services, Chef Paris, Rosario and Carlos at bloved, Freddy at the pool bar and management Miss. Arely and Mr. Fontana. You can’t miss breakfast at BLoved privileged restaurant with and amazing ocean view and the best omelets and chilaquiles, lunch at palapa, dinner at the Italian, Asian and steak house... leave some place for dessert!! Enjoy a sunset at the hot jacuzzi with a nice cocktail! We visited the gym and spa almost every day, relaxing massages, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna... what else can you ask for? (deep tissue Massage is the most relaxing ever). We can’t wait to go back to our Mexican home, thanks everybody for treating us so well! We are looking forward to visit you soon

Hotel's Favorite
This was our first trip to CRT and I’m sure it won’t be our last. Despite the pandemic, we had such a great time! I’ll break it down: Rooms: our room was 6211 on the 3rd floor of building 6. Buildings 5&6 are closest to the pool/beach. The room was clean and comfortable. The mini bar was stocked daily and shower had what looked to be brand new fixtures including rain shower head. Food: Food was good to great. We always found food we liked and enjoyed the variety. Though many restaurants were closed due to low occupancy, they rotated menus. We booked privilege so we had option to eat at Beloved. The Palapa was the other choice at breakfast. Lunch and dinner were at the Palapa and Sorrento. These two had the rotating menus. Beloved was fixed menu every day. Not huge drinkers, so can’t comment much on drinks. Pool: The pool is very large and there were plenty of loungers, even spaced out for COVID. We could find chairs anytime. Oh, and don’t miss the hot tub with an ocean view! Beach: ahhhh the beach. My fave in Mexico so far. The water was clear and calm. It was nothing short of spectacular! Plenty of loungers there as well. Service: Resorts in Mexico always seem to have the friendliest employees, but this resort was over the top in this respect. There were so many employees at this resort that truly were happy to provide service. A few star employees that I want to mention are Marissa, pool waitress, Deysi, waitress in Beloved, Daniel in Guest Services, who did so much to make our stay special, Quetzabel, hostess in the Palapa, and the gem of the animation team, Rosa, whose infectious laugh and energy just make you smile.

Isabel saved our vacation... we arrived at the hôtel to find out my boyfriend booked the royal Catalonia bavaro... in republic Dominican. Isabel spoke with the royal bavaro to cancel the booking and Then match the rate That we found online on one of the cheap traveling website to stay at the royal Catalonia tulum. She upgraded us to get the best food and drinks and put us in the famous building 6. The grounds are stunning, it’s super clean, they spray the chairs every day, the food is ok, but not the best but we are French... there is a good vibes in the hotel, far from COVID but still feeling safe. Thank you all!!

You forget your troubles at Catalonia. My partner and I spent two weeks at Catalonia Royal Tulum and loved it. Their beach is magnificent. Effective safety protocols. The employees make you feel at home. Food is good and variant. We recommend to book the privileged experience to have access to Bloved which has the best menus. Also the resort is LGBTQ friendly. One thing that we recommend is that the resort reconsider their cocktail mixers. This can take your resort to the next level, and possibly towards the 5 stars. Maybe change your suppliers. The piña colada and daiquiri mixes are not good. We love to drink when on vacation and it was difficult for us to figure out what to drink at your bars. Also, I don’t think it’s that costly to provide your guests and your bars with natural orange juice. Your powder-based orange juice is undrinkable and hence every cocktail that has it is not good. Overall, we recommend the resort. We had a wonderful vacation.
