Adults only all-inclusive resort, located in Xpu-Ha, Riviera Maya, on the Caribbean coastline. It is surrounded by native jungle trees, local plants, mangroves and cenotes - water springs where a diverse variety of flora and fauna can be found in an unspoiled habitat. It is just 25km from Playa del Carmen and Tulum's archaeological site, and 85 km south of Cancun International airport, in Quintana Roo State, Mexico.

We enjoyed our stay at Royal Tulum and would recommend this hotel. For me the best thing about this hotel is its setting. Set in a jungle you are completely unaware that you are surrounded by rooms thanks to the trees and amazing wildlife around you - we loved the Coatis - just

Our check-in experience was not very smooth. Even the reservation was confirmed in USD, they did not accept it from us. They insisted MXN or EUR. We had to pay the whole stay on first day, this was also a bit unusual. I was a bit sceptic and "trying to find" other negative

Dear guest, First of all, thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience, we are very happy to know that the expectations were met and that our services were enjoyed 100%. Regarding the reservation payment, I regret that our accepted currencies have caused an inconvenience, it is true that we do not take dollars in cash since we adhere to a federal law, we have shared this information with all agencies to avoid these situations, and after from this experience, we will reinforce. Dear, thank you very much for the opportunity, it is a tremendous pleasure for us to be creators of unforgettable experiences, we hope that in the future we have the honor to serve you again. Best regards, General Manager

Hotel rooms consistently do not cool well enough. We always suggest an upgrade of new AC units to provide adequate cooling. The spa seemed to be lacking in maintenance - none of the 3 wet saunas was working. That was disappointing. But we love the coed aspect of the spa!!!

A good question and I'll be frank with you in response. All of the rooms face into the "jungle" that runs in the middle of the two rows of buildings, a northern row and a southern row. The trees and foliage rise right up to the and beyond the tops of the buildings. All rooms are more or less "dark" (but all balconies are therefore secluded). All rooms on the second and third floors are accessed only by stairs. There are no elevators. Easy stairs but I say that as someone whop has no mobility problems. More light filters through the foliage to the rooms in the northern row in the afternoon (and the southern row in the morning) but no balcony is in full sun, anywhere in the complex. I think it was designed that way for privacy. Privileged rooms are fewer in number and - I think - are all located higher up.

More or less all bars on the beach/pool or near the lobby. We still picked up drinks and enjoyed it on our balcony.

Is there a lot of stairs to go up to 3 floor rooms
It depends what you consider a lot. I would say there is probably about 20 steps Hope this helps. It's a wonderful place. Enjoy.

We only watched the musicians in the lobby at night which were very good. You have to pay to see the shows 😕

"Building 5 is closest to the pool/beach area-..Also, top floor offer more privacy from the walkway and more light!"
"The best rooms would be in the 600 building on the 3rd floor as you will be able to enjoy the afternoon sun."
"Top of 3 floors has best late sun and above/level with the 'jungle' canopy, recommend privilege upgrade - we were in block 5 (Aqua)"
"quieter away from the beach, but farther to walk, small beautiful resort"
"building 2 was very quiet!"
