We spent two wonderful nights there. Undoubtedly the best option in this small town. Big room, clean, two comfortable beds, great view, silent and staff really makes you feel at home. An important thing when choosing a hotel in Xcalak is that it has a restaurant, cause in case you don't have a car, it'll be really difficult to walk... More

Clean rooms, delicious food and friendly staff in addition to kayaking, snorkeling, swimming, walking and reading made our five days fly by at Tierra Maya. We even had massages in our room. Eduardo was always smiling and helpful. When one of our rental car tires was flat he had a tester and compressor to solve the problem.

I have been traveling in the Yucatan for over 25 years. The remote village of Xcalak and the southernmost region of the area is lucky to have Hotel Tierra Maya, a small 7 room facility with a great bar and restaurant. The rooms are well kept and fairly modern, all facing the Caribbean and beach, which is only about 30... More

We came for the fishing and enjoyed so much more. The service was excellent, the food was very good, Eduardo runs a complex, busy establishment with flair and good humor. I had a problem with a fishing guide and he was very helpful in resolving the issue (even though it was not his problem). I cannot wait to return to... More

I spent a delightful week at this hotel which is beautifully managed and attended to by friendly, hardworking staff. The rooms are well appointed, clean and architecturally interesting. I ate every meal at the restaurant and enjoyed every one. The bar is great and the margaritas are world class! Eduardo, the manager, has a "can do" attitude and gives one... More

My husband I were excited to visit this hotel for our honeymoon after coming highly recommended by my aunt and uncle who had frequented this establishment for 20+ years. After getting into a car accident we unfortunately had to cancel our reservation and while it very clearly states you will get 50% of your deposit back we have been battling... More

Six of us went on a fishing trip to Xcalak and stayed at the Tierra Maya. Eduardo made us feel right at home. Extremely friendly and helpful. Dinner in the attached restaurant was fabulous.Consisted of appetizer, entree with sides and dessert. Seafood is very fresh, excellently prepared and attractively presented. Prices are very moderate by USA standards. Breakfast ( included)... More

I stayed here with 5 of my fishing buddies last week. The Hotel and restaurant are run by Eduardo. He is the best. He must have had some training in hotel management, because he runs an excellent operation. Not only is the hotel very nice and charming, but the restaurant has the best food in the town. The rooms are... More

When looking for a place to stay in Xcalak we stumbled upon this little hotel conveniently located just north of the town for our 5 night stay. Don't be fooled by the small size of Tierra Maya. The hotel has huge rooms with balconies that look right onto the turquoise ocean. The rooms are well equipped with water, fridge and... More
