My only mistake with Tia Micha was not staying longer. I arrived at night and left in the morning: I would have liked more time to read on the spacious shared balconies, or the garden (full of birds!) The woman who checked me in (Shamona) was incredibly helpful, very professional and kind. She gave me great walking directions for my one evening in town, and was just a very positive person to interact with. Then man who let me in when I returned after dinner was also warm and professional. My room was large had it's own jacuzzi! The entire place was absolutely spotless, everything worked well, lighting was nice, and I had a small window out onto a tiny little garden- so cute! I really enjoyed the historic architectural details of the building and my room- it felt a bit like sleeping in a castle. I felt very safe and comfortable there and my room even came with an umbrella which was perfect for the rainy evening. Breakfast (included!) was made to order, no stale buffet here. Coffee was good, fruit was fresh, eggs, salsa and tortillas on point. The owner came around to every table to greet her guests, and was extremely pleasant person. I would absolutely stay here again- I always look for local owned spots, and for me being woman-owned is an extra bonus on top of how great this pace is overall.…
We spent two nights in Valladolid, celebrating a milestone birthday for my husband. I had mentioned this when I made the reservation but there was no further discussion, so we were both surprised and delighted to find that our room had been decorated for his celebration. He was also brought a birthday treat after breakfast the next morning. We stayed in the honeymoon suite, which was spacious and quiet. There was a small coffee maker in the room, with a jar of very good coffee and we were brought milk, too, upon request. There is a small refrigerator in the room. We found the hotel to be convenient to the town center. Breakfast was delicious. I will admit that the modest exterior of the hotel gave me pause but it opens to the lovely and lush gardens you see in the photos. There is also a nice area upstairs that overlooks the gardens for guests to relax.…
From the first contact on line, through the final "adiós," every interaction was pleasant and courteous. The setting is beautiful, with breakfasts taken in a verdant courtyard. We opted for a larger room that was beautifully furnished and quite comfortable. One alert is that rooms facing the front of the property overlook the street. Motorcycles and trucks can intrude on your peace, but overnight there is almost no traffic, so sleep is no problem.
We loved everything about Casa Tia Micha: the service, the location, the staff, the food, and the decor. The service was impeccable. Sra. Sheroma was so pleasant and helpful. The surroundings are like a beautiful oasis in the middle of town. The garden is gorgeous. Our room was large and beautifully decorated with a comfortable bed and soft, elegant linens. The breakfast was delicious and our server Sr. Carlos was very attentive. The bath robes were a a nice touch. We also received hassle-free parking near the hotel. It has a great location just steps away from the center square. We also received a small parting gift
The daily breakfast in the outdoor garden with the Mexican coffee and fresh fruit and Yucatan specialties was a wonderful way to start the day. (And it's included in the price!) The garden setting is just beautiful. Quiet, contemplative and delicious. Our room is large and meets our every need. There are even small skylights giving a very soft light at night so we don't stumble in the dark. We get coffee and bottled water. As I write this review I am sitting in a comfortable rattan rocker just off our bedroom, overlooking the breakfast area. Another beautiful quiet space. It is also nice to have secure off-street parking just a few steps away. We are walking distance to the main square, the church, wonderful dining and a great cultural house. The owners have the most extensive collection of folk art in Mexico--displayed in their huge, amazing home--and it's open to the public--casa Venados. We highly recommend this hotel for a beautiful stay in Valladolid. Minor issue · We had a little difficulty getting the air conditioner set so that we were comfortable all night. (That is probably a user error).…
Very well located in city center of Valladolid, Casa Tia Micha is full of charm, with superb inner garden and jacuzzi. Rooms are beautiful, and we had one with a superb bath inside. Service is excellent, with good breakfast. We loved this place
Very clean and friendly place in the middle of Valladolid. It is very close to the square but far enough away to not be distracting. Jesús took very good care of us and made us delicious and full breakfasts every morning. Highly recommend this stay.
This is a beautiful property that is well maintained with staff that really cares for their guests. We stayed in the "honeymoon suite" and it was spectacular....so much so that we extended our stay an extra night. The daily breakfast was superb and varied each day - always more than we could eat! Great location in the heart of the center. Walking distance to a wonderful cenote and the square.
