Balamku is a small ecological hotel that offers beautiful rooms all facing the Sea and directly on the beach. We guarantee privacy, tranquility and excellent service. Since we are 6 kms south of Mahahual, our hotel is never noisy or crowded. We do not work with cruise ship folks so privacy is never compromised. The newly improved beach road makes access to town easy in less than 10 minutes. Kayaks are free to explore the reef just metres from our beach for great snorkeling. Large breakfasts are included as well as taxes.Enjoy the Caribbean Sea away from the crowds and relax in our natural environment. Please join us for private YOGA here or in town. Exceptional experience! Look for our YOGA retreats on FB

We spent three nights here and couldn't have felt more welcome. Juste was the perfect host supported by Jesus who showed us our room and did everything to help us. Breakfasts were great. My husband is disabled (amputee) and they were extremely thoughtful in where they located us and the facilities they provided for us. The only downside I'd say is our bathroom was a little tired and the design of our shower meant we couldn't switch it on without getting deluged with cold water - OK after a run but less welcome at other times.

We are grateful for your review of Balamku and glad you enjoyed our Inn . Hot water is always the norm so perhaps this cold water issue was due to a hot water heater issue Thank you for taking the time to review Balamku and your experiences with us

Gorgeous beach, great snorkeling, wonderful hosts, all in a charming setting. Superb breakfast. It's an eco resort at a great value, but don't be looking for the amenities of an all inclusive. That said, if you want to be in a gorgeous place relatively on your own, its a hard to find a better option. Our family loved it!

We had a great stay at Balam Ku. Justa and Albert are wonderfully warm and obliging hosts. The rooms are clean and well sized, the helpers are friendly and delghtful, and the food, both the breakfasts at the Inn and the dinners at their restaurant down the road, were especially delicious. The beach was a bit gritty and silty for our taste, but the sargasso (seaweed) which has plagued the area for a few years, was not a problem as the beach was cleaned each morning. Everything was fine--we realize that we're more on the luxury side as older travelers, than "eco" types, though. Oh, they have free kayaks for guests to use. Lovely!

Love this Eco Hotel and all the people that make it such a beautiful place. The rooms are beautiful and well kept. Fantastic breakfasts with lots of fresh fruit and many extra tortilla's with my Huevos Rancheros! Had some great dinners at the Travel In which was just down the road from Balamku. Did some travel to Bacalar and Chetumal which are not far away. The ruins at Chachoben are beautiful and depending when you go can be almost a private visit! Can't wait to visit again!
