We booked to go for 2 nights of our honeymoon late January. The rooms are dirty, the beach club has all beds taken up by cruise ships not the hotel guest, service is horrendous, food inedible and expensive. Then my husband got surrounded by 4 waiters at 7.15pm at night. We packed up our stuff and left! Felt so threatened! And when we left the car next to ours had rocks on the trunk. These people are not nice at all. Just don’t book here and save your money. Probably a good location but we are now staying further south and feel way more safe. The gym has music blaring all the time and when we retired our key and got the heck out of there last night it looked more like a strip club.
I spent one week at Blue Kay with my sister in a mini cabana right in front of the beach. We didn’t have any expectations but we really liked it! Blue Kay is located at the north end of the Malecón so it is a quiet area of Mahahual. The mini cabana was indeed mini and quite basic but overall clean and comfortable. The shared bathroom were okay however some showers never had hot water. The other en-suite rooms looked very nice. The beach was nice and clean, no sargassum during our stay which was nice. It is possible to go snorkeling right in front of Blue Kay and it was actually a good spot with a lot to see! The wifi was pretty spotty at times, but not a big deal for us. The staff was always very nice, it felt like a well run business. I definitely recommend it.
I love the place, the hotel was worth the price. Staff members amazing caring humans. Super nice and on top of things. Angie from the restaurant help us make good decisions and help us save money. The service was amazing
I stayed one ovenight at the Blue Kay hostel. The staff was very friendly and professional. They were always ready to assist me with whatever i needed. The beach fron was very relaxing a great way to pass the day. Its about a 15 minutes walk to get to ghe center of Mahaual which makes for some lovely scenery along the beach. All in all it was a great stay!!!
We booked this after seeing on Trip Advisor. We took short cab ride to resort. We paid $30 a person that included an hour bike ride with local tour guide, open bar for 3 hours and food. You could also enjoy the beach with many lounge chairs and cushions. You can’t beat the price. Our bike ride was hosted by two local girls, Liz and Alex. They were great. We went mainly along the main drag of restaurants and beach with a couple side streets. They took great care of us and pointed out different points of interest. After the bike ride you could choose which resort you wanted to enjoy for the afternoon. They have two. The service from the girls and the wait staff are terrific! The water was clean and nice and sandy bottom. You can either hang out at the crowded and loud town center with tons and tons of people or spend the afternoon at this location. Very relaxing.…
