We are extended family traveled with 3 kids 5 years old.we didn't experience so many activities offered for kids !!! Kids club just the best!!!! The kids sliding and splashing aria very large with different activities on it , we just moved from one to another whole day it's next to eating aria bar (for parents ))) and pool with different levels it was so convenient. Basically we never leave the spot with umbrella from morning to evening. Everything was very close and convenient. Kids club personal was invited the kids for some interesting activities during the day even though they not attended kids club. At night it was also exited activities with dancing by the lobby open air space,. Absolutely 💯 Love the place!@!

As the sun sets on the most amazing 11 nights at the GBP Tulum, we can only feel so incredibly blessed to have spent our holiday at this resort. Thank you so much to the wonderful staff and holiday makers here. Adan, Soledad, Adrian, and Jordan at the buffet restaurant were OUTSTANDING. They truly made our holiday a magical experience. We have a small baby and every single one of them went out of their way to greet us every day, speak to the baby, make us feel so special. It has been unforgettable and we will always remember this holiday. Victor at the pool bar and even Victoria of the management team just generally looking after us and wanting us to have the best experience. A couple of negatives that I really think could be worked on are the wildlife, the grounds are so well looked after, there are many animals to be seen and the turtle nests are protected along the beach. But when staff were made aware of a raccoon with a partial but serious face injury (living by the truck) nobody seemed to care. I am completely aware that we shouldn’t interfere with nature but if the animals were allowed to live in natural surroundings they wouldn’t have a huge resort in their natural habitat. So I feel quite strongly they should provide veterinary care. Also this site has dolphins living in pools at least a third smaller than anything they provide for human guests to swim in. The conditions are horrendous and heartbreaking. In 2022 nobody should want to witness animals kept in such captivity but sell “save the turtle” straws for $16 in the gift shop. All in all the staff at this resort are the most wonderful caring people I have ever met and I would return in a heartbeat. I would recommend everyone to visit.

Visited for a week as the last part of our honeymoon in Mexico. I can honestly say only good things about the resort. The rooms There are newly renovated rooms, but we stayed in a older one, in a suite. Nevertheless it was very clean, well equipped, spacious and comfortable. The wardrobe was big enough, and the safe was easy to work it. The bathroom was beautiful and gorgeous. The bed was big and comfortable, the TV is also huge with lots of US and sports channels. There was living room area with table, chairs and a sofa, and also a nice balcony with chairs and a table. The surroundings Look, I’m gonna be honest. I was blown away by the gorgeous nature that surrounds the whole resort/s of Grand Bahia. There is so much beautiful and lush vegetation, with all kinds of exotic plants. Also the animals are really part of the charm. When you travel half the world you expect to experience as much as you can in a foreign country, and seeing the all that nature every time you leave the room is really amazing. The food First of all, the buffet at the Yucatan restaurant is top notch. There is so much variety of dishes and cuisines. There is asian, mexican, american, italian….excellent deserts and fresh vegetables and fruits, all kinds of meats and fishes, clams, squids, etc. Also, the dinners tend to have a special theme meals, like “spanish night” with tapas, jamon, etc. The food was always freshly prepared and at the right temperature. We visited the following a la carte restaurants: Don Pablo, Mikado and Tequila. All were great. Overall the buffet exceeded my expectations . *off topic: I noticed a lot of the American guests filling their plates with fries and burgers on breakfast, lunch and dinner, which is absolutely astounding given the variety and the quality of the buffet. It kind of reminded me of when we were visiting Bologna, in Emilia Romagna, arguably the best culinary region it Italy, and the Chinese restaurants were filled with Chinese tourists. Why?! The personnel Everybody was extremely nice and left us wanting to stay for at least another week. Contrary to some reviews here, nobody expects tips from the guests, and although you could leave if you want, there is no difference in the service. The beach and pool So, we went to the beach in front of the Akumal part, as the sea and the beach there were crystal clear. The beach bars serve nice cocktails. One morning we went to “our” beach and shockingly found out the whole laguna is filled with sea weed. The personnel worked so hard to clear it that by the time of water dances in the sea ( around 12 pm) the sea and the beach was again crystal clear. The activities were nice, I played beach volleyball and water polo almost every day, friendly games and great atmosphere due to the animators.

Traveling as a couple for a relaxing vacation in the glorious Mexican sun. We purchased our package through Air Canada. We reserved a 2 room suite. The suite is pristine and the new layout is really nice. Everything worked well. We were given a third floor suite in building 17. At first, I thought, this is directly in front of the kid's Zama pool... Well, it was not nearly as loud as I thought it would be. We are afternoon nappers so I was worried that we would be disrupted. Not really. This resort is beautiful. The grounds are lush and healthy. There are a number of pools to sit and bathe in the sun. Lots of loungers which are all new and in great condition. I really like the way they do the beach towels. You go to a towel hut and give your room #. Return and replace at the same location. They are a number of these throughout the resort. The bracelets are also your room keys which I found quite cool. It's always with you! No fuss no muss. The drinks are hit or miss. Sometimes the drinks are really good and at other times full glasses are left laying around because people don't want to drink them. The coffee is weak in my opinion. I love my coffee and can't wait to get back home for a really good cup again. The staff are seriously the happiest bunch we have come across working at a resort. The Bahia Principe chain must treat their staff well. They all seem happy and eager to please the guests. Whatever it takes to make you happy is my impression. This resort is huge. Walking is an issue for me but there are trolleys running all day and night to insure that you get where you need to go. The food is great! So many choices and options. The a la Cartes are typical all inclusive fair. 🙄 Go off resort! See some culture. Recommend Playa De Carmen via the Collectivo vans. 2.20 usd one way per person. Also, the town of Tulum is really cute. 👌 Overall, this resort was a great experience for us. I highly recommend for families with young kids too. There is so much for them. Great job Bahia Principe Tulum!

So I’ve been to this Grand Bahia principe before and stayed in the coba, this time I booked into the renovated Tulum. Firstly the work they’ve done is fantastic, the new suites, the grounds and facilities are sensational - I came to celebrate my 40th bday and was met with a door banner and a bottle of bubbly on arrival, the whole family thoroughly enjoyed our 2 week vacation on resort… this place will not let you down. This is our 4th time in Mexico and usually come in September, April is a super busy period and the hotel was allegedly at capacity, this impacted our ability to secure ala carte restaurants reservations a lot of the time… this is my only negative point - I wish things could have been different. Covid has impacted the resort, the hacienda is very quiet now and the shows and bars are no longer operating down there, big shame. Also you cannot take drinks into the Tulum theatre to watch shows, this hugely impacts peoples decisions as going for 1hour + with no beverage is a deal breaker, although strangely the theatre bar is in operation over at the coba (must be as the theatre has no doors) but Tulum need to sort this quick. Apart from that a hugely satisfying 2 weeks and I miss the place already, I may be back one day I. The future but I will be doing Europe for a few years now with the little ones. Adios GBP and Mexico .. until next time 🇲🇽☀️😎🍻🍹

This was our first family vacation so we weren’t too sure what to expect, but it turned out fabulous. The kids area is unreal… so much for the kids to do. We ended up upgrading to a two bedroom suite which was the best decision we could have made.. it is a really big resort so walking with the kids from the other side of the resort would not have worked. The kids club was amazing! They had so many daily and nightly activities and they were so involved with the kids. Our kids loved the tye dye T-shirt and circus night the best. The group that runs the kids club definitely care and put in effort with the kids! We enjoyed the Brazilian a la carte the best… but with kids the buffet is so much easier and the buffet food was great! Lots of Mexican food to chose from. We used the gym regularly which had everything we needed. The weight section got a little tight on the weekend. All of the staff seemed genuinely happy and helpful and very hard working! The beach was definitely the down fall of the resort… but we did go to akumal one day to swim at the coba section which worked out fine. The kids preferred the pools/water park anyways. All in all a great family resort!

This was our fifth stay with this hotel group and fourth at this hotel. The Bahia Principe family has been our go to for considering their loyalty program but upon check-in we were instructed that there is a new loyalty program now and no luck with any benefits. We did not feel valued whatsoever. Room and grounds were lovely. The included basic wifi worked extremely well everywhere on the resort. Beach is great except for the 10 foot moat of seaweed separating you from the water (and the Sulphur smell). When you hear about the issues you definitely don't realize the gravity of the situation. There were upwards of 50 workers (poor guys) shoveling and moving seaweed all day long (8am-4pm). Photos attached. Buffet is no longer a good option for dining every night (mediocre selection and bland flavors) and the a la cart restaurants weren't that much better (other than Don Pablo - excellent). Tequila (Mexican a la cart) is just a buffet restaurant with similar food the the regular buffet. Due to the amount of seaweed and poor experience at Bahia we will not return to the Mayan Riviera for a long time. There are many other options for our vacation dollar and we are beach people.

We visited this hotel 6 years ago and it was so much better the . The food at the buffet was half empty and not warm. The buffet used to be INCREDIBLE The pools had some sort of film all around the edges. Almost looked like silk and bird poop floating everywhere in the pool. The beach had copious amounts of seaweed, although they were raking every day poor people. The stagf were lovely , but sadly i won't be back

We stayed via RCI; first time since 2019 and our 7th visit. Email communication ahead of time not as good (wasn't asked about location preference, celebrating anything, etc..). We had hoped, as Privilege Members (via RCI) that we would get a renovated room. No go. Time in room is for sleep and showers, but would have been nice. No more turn down service, no more slippers and robe in room, no more umbrella. First world issues, I know. Beach has gotten worse (more rocks). Seaweed bad, but that is all over. Food seemed to be not quite as good. New Privilege section in Tulum was great. Onyda (sp?) was a great staff member!
