That is correct. It used to be available to all of the resorts in this complex, but when they took over all of the Riviera buildings for the TRS (adults only) renovations, they made the saltwater pool a TRS only pool...

If you booked thru the resort the free shuttle provided can be hit or miss. It is not private (just you in the van). You may have to wait for others to arrive that will be riding in the van also. All depends. You could luck out and be the only ones in the shuttle. I always book a private shuttle and use NAST Transfers. Worth every penny. The best price out there and the service is great. Nice airconditioned 12 seater vans with only you in it! Only $115.00 round trip for up to 3 persons. That's per van not per person. They include the tax upfront in their quote so no surprise at the end when you book (others add it on at the end which raises the original price). One hour from the airport to the resort. It it's a weekend then you can count on a bit longer due to Playa traffic.

First off you don't need a tour company. A lot of the attractions that people see are all within a half hour of the resort. Those big bus tours wind up picking up other guests and then dropping them off at the end. You're also on their time and not yours. The only time you may need a bus is if you want to travel to some sites that are far away (like the famous ruins "Chichen Itza") but with a baby I wouldn't recommend it. It's three hour drive one way. If you want to go to Tulum it is a half hour south of the resort. Not sure how much a baby would enjoy ruins but I'm sure you would! Get there when it opens at 8:00AM. Tours show up later and it gets crowded. Bring hats, sunscreen, and plenty of water. I think a nice full day excursion (I even think they even sell half day ones) would be to visit Xcaret. It's one of the all day all inclusive adventure parks that's in the area about 20 minutes north of the resort. I think it has a bit more children's interest activities than the other adventure parks in the vicinity. Easy to take a taxi to get there or use the local transportation (colectivo). You can buy tickets ahead online to get a discount but just as easily buy them at the gate. Just "Google" their website for info. Another fun thing to do is to visit the Akumal Monkey Sanctuary. They have all sorts of other animals as well that they care for there. It’s south of the resort probably about a half hour away (you drive thru the pueblo (town) of Tulum to reach it). I think your little one will love it. Take a colectivo to the last stop at Tulum pueblo and grab a taxi for a very short ride to reach it. "Google" their site as well as read reviews of it here in TA. Just want you to be aware if you elect to use the colectivo, when heading south or coming back from places north of the resort, do not cross the highway !! There is an employee underpass that you can use to get you to the other side of the highway. Walk thru the Colonial parking lot and you will see as you get close to the security entrance to the resort a path on the right. That will take you to the underground pass. You will come up on the other side and then just wait till a collective comes by. They are white vans that come by about every 5-6 minutes. It’s $3.00 per person one way. On the way back there is a traffic light for you to cross the highway at Tulum for your colectivo return trip back to the Palladium. The taxi driver from the sanctuary might even give you a good deal to take you all of the way back to the resort. Barter! (fare should be no more than $26-30 from the sanctuary.
